The Best Knife Sharpener I’ve Ever Used — So Good I Bought Three
I don’t usually get excited about kitchen gadgets, but the nySharp Knife Sharpener has genuinely blown me away. This thing is ridiculously easy to use — the hands‑free PowerGrip suction sticks to the counter like it’s holding on for dear life, and sharpening takes seconds. No slipping, no wobbling, no drama. The results are incredible. My knives went from “struggling to cut butter” to “slicing tomatoes like a samurai on a deadline.” It’s honestly the best sharpener I’ve ever owned, and I’ve tried plenty over the years. I was so impressed I immediately bought two more to give to family members. When a gadget works this well, you want everyone else to experience the joy too. If you want sharp knives without the hassle, this is the one to get. Absolute kitchen hero.

Good sharpener
The AnySharp is brilliantly clever for what it is. The suction base is powerful—it genuinely locks to the countertop and doesn't budge, making the sharpening process safe and one-handed. It's incredibly easy to use and puts a serviceable edge on dull kitchen knives in seconds. It brought my daily-use knives from frustratingly blunt to "will easily slice a tomato" sharp. However, it is quite abrasive. I wouldn't use it on my expensive, high-end Japanese chef's knife as it removes more metal than a precision whetstone. It's a perfect tool for quickly maintaining standard European-style kitchen knives. Pros: Extremely easy and safe to use with its powerful suction base, quickly puts a functional edge on dull knives, very affordable. Cons: The abrasive mechanism can be harsh and remove more metal than finer sharpening methods. Not suitable for premium or specialty knives.

Excellent sharpener
The AnySharp Knife Sharpener with PowerGrip suction is a handy little gadget that makes it easy to sort out dull kitchen knives in seconds. Stick it to a smooth worktop, pull the blade through a few times, and most everyday knives will feel noticeably sharper straight away. The suction base keeps it put, so you only have to hold the knife, which feels a lot safer than juggling a loose sharpener or steel. It’s not a pro chef tool, but for a cheap, compact sharpener that just lives in a drawer and “does the job”, it’s hard to beat

The best knife sharpener for most people
This is smaller than you may think, but it does an amazing job. It sticks well to normal laminate worktop and to marble, which is really useful as you can keep your fingers and hands away from a moving blade that gets progressively sharper! I wet on a sharpening spree and it worked on large and small knives that hadn't been sharpened since new, it gave a noticeable edge to them all. It takes off a visible amount of shavings and I'd recommend rinsing any knife you sharpen before use to get rid of any little metal prices. It does say you can use on serrated blades like bread knives, but the bread knife in my house seems to be permanently sharp so I haven't tested it. It's probably not upto the standard you would need if you're a pro chef, and it may be a bit rough to use in top of the range (or expensive) knives as it does seem to take a lot off but for a normal home cook it worked a treat. For cost and ease of use you're going to have to go a long way to beat this. My only tip is to check the direction arrow on top of the sharpener, it can only be used in one direction!

A loose gadget that's not stable.
I used this for the first time on Saturday, the same day I received it. It did a great job of sharpening my knives - from blunt to super sharp. Perfect! - but the suction was terrible. I put it on the kitchen counter, pulled down the handle, and it stuck, but as soon as I pulled the knife through the sharpener, the suction loosened, and it came off the counter. This happened the first time I used it, and every single time after. To sharpen each knife, I had to go slowly, because the suction was loose and it kept moving on the counter. This is a big failing. The promotional video and text make the suction a major selling point, but it doesn't work. My counter was clean and dry, and there was nothing that would affect the suction, so it's misleading to emphasise the strength of the suction when it is a big design flaw. It's also dangerous because loose suction and a gadget that isn't stable make it highly likely that I might cut myself while sharpening my knives.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST KNIFE SHARPENER
So easy to use, so small but very very impressive. Keep mine on kitchen window sill so that it is always available when preparing meals and a sharp knife makes preparation much easier. Last purchase was probably five years ago, still sharpens, but the new sharpener only takes two swipes whereas old sharpener was needing six or seven.

I was surprised. It gave new life to all my knives, even one low end Ikea knife I had no hope, now it cuts everything.
