Great little kit, I bought this for the wife who is a gin convert. Very simple to use and good clear instructions to read. We were a bit sceptical after a couple of days but by the 4th/5th day it smelt and tasted amazing! Who knew you could make gin from cheap vodka!,, Scott and Gabriel from sandy leaf farm who produce the kit email and offer constant advice if there are any problems, they also do an amazing array of other kits, check them out.. So the wife hasn’t tried the finished product yet by by her reaction when she tasted it just before decanting I think she likes it 😋👍🏻 So thanks Scott & Gabriel for creating these loverly kits, perfect gift for the gin drinker in your life. Great idea for a gift

Bought for a gift but not giftable as the box was very crushed. So decided to keep it and make myself. Which was just as well because the recipient wouldn’t have liked it in hindsight. Great instructions, very easy to do. But I can’t say it tastes good, I find it quite bitter and generally not pleasant. I would say I’d try a different flavour but in honesty, it’s not good value, when you can buy proper gin in Lidl and Aldi cheaply in such lovely flavours, why bother, it’s never going to taste as good, and frankly it was a waste of a good bottle of vodka .

I have noted lots of comments regarding the need to buy some cheap vodka, but unless one has a licence to make spirits, or has some 'moonshine' on the go, I cannot see any other option. Anyway, to my mind it's not about that, its about having a bit of fun at the expense of Gordon's and without the cost of the other more fancy Gins. So, if you're up for it we found it simple and great fun. The end result was a completely new and very tasty 'home made' Gin, although next time we'll soak the herbie stuff for a shorter time, possibly a day less just to see the difference. I do like my Gin in the evening, and I also like this personalised version. They have put a lot of thought into the product packaging which is well produced and beautifully put together. I will be ordering another packet for both the fun and the taste. What's to lose!

The most fun I’ve had with a bottle of vodka and some dodgy looking leaves since I was about 15. The kit is self explanatory and it’s just such a good but simple idea. Watching the various stages involved and the gins transformation from clear to the colour of cats pee (sorry if tmi but best be prepared for this) to then something that resembles the bottom of a fish tank is “interesting”, but don’t be put off - even at this point it smells SO damn good... The filtering turned out to be a little messy, but we had straws on hand for any spillages, and we gave it a second filter at about 10 days. The end result was surprisingly good. Well, actually, not wanting to boast, it was brilliant. A seriously nice bottle of gin 🍸 For the craic alone though it’s worth the money...

I gave this kit to my wife for Christmas. She loves her gin, spends far too much money on premium brands and is a gin club member. Worried she would see this as a bit gimicky, she set out following the instructions and created two bottles, one rosemary based, and the other cranberry. A little caveat - you obviously don't get fresh rosemary or cranberries in the pack. You mix the included botanicals with vodka, to create a base. We then added the fresh ingredients to give our 'gin' a more personal taste. Wow! Tasted absolutely superb. Could we taste vodka? Yeah, a little bit - it starts with vodka, so that is expected. And we didn't really want to break UK licensing law to distill our own. But it works! A lovely gift, a lovely 'gin', but most importantly, it was fun. Well done to the Sandy Leaf Farm team.

I used an £11 supermarket vodka, and followed the instructions to the letter. As the picture shows, the filtered result looks bit like a very, very light whisky and when diluted with a tonic the colouration hardly shows. It's quite drinkable, being recognisably gin although I though it just lacked the fresh 'zing' of a genuine gin. I quite like a botanical gin, hence 'bottling' in a Winchester Dry Gin bottle. You could use a pricier vodka if concerned about just a hint of a metallic aroma. Price wise, once you add on the price of a vodka you're in the same price range as Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Blackfriar’s Gin and it would be hard to claim this infusion was substantially better and certainly not approaching a true artisan gin. All in all, it's bit of fun and a talking point and certainly you can drink the result quite happily.

I received the first as a gift and it was fun to make. But after trying the gin I purchased several more for friends and they like it also. I used good vodka and it's the Best gin I've ever had.

Das Produkt gefällt mir eigentlich ganz gut. Eine nette Einleitung und eine großzügige Mischung verschiedener Botanicals. Dir Lieferung war pünktlich und alles verlief reibungslos. Was mir nicht so ganz gefällt ist, dass ich um den gleichen Gin noch einmal herzustellen auch dieses Packet ein zweites Mal kaufen muss da keine wirkliche Angaben über die Botanicals gegeben sind. Daher leider nur 4/5.

Cela aurait été une bonne idée, je les ai vus à vendre un peu l'année dernière, mais présenté beaucoup mieux. Cette sélection d'herbes que vous pouvez acheter beaucoup moins cher individuellement est arrivé dans une boîte battue qui n'a rien fait pour inspirer aromatiser votre gin

Gave this to a friend and we did it together. Was fun to track progress over time and enjoy the final result. Superb.
