What is the colour of these? I want to use them against brilliant white paintwork.

They are white- the same colour as the light switches. We used them in our hallway which is a coffee colour and they stop any dirty fingermarks on the paintwork. Glad to say we have used them for 3 years and can recommend them.

So what are the actual dimensions of this surround?

51/2" by 51/2 " hope that helps looks very nice.

what's the inside hole size? Am looking for something to fit around a 8.5 x 8.5cm, would it fit?

Should be OK. The fittings I have used are 8.5 x 8.5. It depends on the depth of the switch or socket as it is easier to fit after wiring in.
