Great value for money!
Superb value for money—I bought a few bags so I'd have loads, and each one is a decent size. I got this as a texture change for my hamster’s enclosure. While it won’t hold up burrows very well, it’s great for digging and can also be used for nesting. The texture is a bit strange—spiky yet soft at the same time, which my hamster seemed to enjoy. There’s minimal dust; a little bit, but not overwhelming. I’d recommend grabbing it out by hand rather than tipping the whole bag in to avoid the dust at the bottom. It has no weird smells, bugs, or unwanted pieces inside—just as advertised on the bag! Overall, a great product at an excellent price.

Happy Snake
Needed to replace the substrate in my snake vivarium, and this did the job, the bag size was just enough to complete the job and was also good value, and good quality, no complaints from my snake so all is well.

Best for leopard tortoise
I have used this bedding for a few years for my leopard tortoise now and safe to say it’s the best I’ve found. It doesn’t cause digestive issues if he accidentally consumes any of it which is the biggest perk. He is also able to bury himself in it when he wants to. The bedding is reasonably absorbant but you will need quite a thick layer maybe 1-2 inches to ensure any urine or water spills don’t reach the enclosure’s base. The only negative is that it is quite dusty, safe to say I definitely have a sneezing fit when I first empty the bag! It does also give my tortoise some mildly irritated eyes for a couple of days when I change it, but rinsing with water helps alleviate that easily. Whilst it is quite pricey, especially with needing at least two bags each time for my table’s size. It is worth it for the overall quality, comfort and health of my tortoise.

Our 'Go To' Aspen
Great aspen for our corn snake enclosure. It is a large tank and one bag covers it perfectly, with plenty of coverage for the snake to burrow and slither around in. Highly recommend.

Good for corn snakes
This claims to be 12 litres but I think that's rather optimistic, even when fluffed up a lot. Still, it's enough for a single filling of a 4ft x 1ft (120x34cm) viv to a depth of about 2.5cm (so I make that about 10 litres), which is sufficient for my 2 year old corn snake to burrow to her heart's content. It's not as dusty as the aspen bedding I've tried previously, and it's just about the cheapest option out there.I've tried a couple of different types of substrate; aspen isn't the prettiest but I do think it's the best for corn snakes as it's gentle on their skin when burrowing, lets their burrows hold their shape, and makes it easy to see poo for spot cleaning. The main disadvantage to it really is that it can dry the air, so keep an eye on humidity levels and give it a misting if necessary. I have a large water dish underneath the heat lamp and the evaporation from that seems to be sufficient to maintain decent humidity.

About 4 litres, being generous
Bought for gerbil enclosure. Perfect substrate. I’m not sure how the manufacturers are measuring 12l in volume. It’s about 2kg, and fills about 1/5th of our tank. I’d say it’s 4 litres.
