Alexander Mcqueen: Working Process Hardcover – 1 Sept. 2013

This book complimented the photography exhibition in London a few years ago. The photos are beautiful and the information is very interesting. This book is a must have for all McQueen, fashion & photography fans

I bought this book to put away for my granddaughter for Christmas. She was thrilled with the other Alexander McQueen book so I thought this would be a surprise. Very good price, free postage and it arrived very quickly. Thank you.

Great book, 100% photographs from work in process of creating the collection. Amazing memory of Lee Alexander McQueen genious work.

As a huge fan of Alexander Mcqueen, I was eager to get my hands on all the books dedicated to him and his work. I cannot fathom how some reviewers have given this book five stars because it does not deserve any. It is a complete rip off. It focuses on the process of creating the Fall 2009 collection. You just have random photographs of garbage, some leftover food probably from a lunch break, some fittings, preparation of the stage...etc. There are no descriptions, so everything looks disconnected and unappealing. The idea of the book is great, but the execution is poor. I would have liked to see the complete creation process, from sketches to choosing of fabrics, to cutting, stitching, selection of models, accessories. ...etc complete with description. This would have been better suited as a documentary. For those who still wish to purchase the book, I'd advise borrowing one if possible and see for yourselves. Overpriced for what it offers.

McQueen is a comet ! He illustrated deep rooted, fascinating but another way to look at beauty! This book describes every step of creation of his collection 'Horn of abundance ': unique documented work in progress ! You will understand the different aspect of what 'beauty' can be! Unique !

I was partners in a menswear line for 6 years that had some success so I am familiar with the frenetic and fast paced environment of an indie fashion label's studio. For some reason I thought it must be different at a leading house such as Chanel, Dior or McQueen. But these photos are proof that behind the glamour of fashion there must be a brilliant artist hard at work, shirts sleeves rolled up, sometime on the floor, spending late late nights. McQueen was very guarded of his studio... very few got to see him at work. This is what makes this book such a revelation. The story boards he put together which are beautifully photographed are reveal a hungry mind who consumed art and culture of all kinds and turned it into this own art. Congratulatons to Waplington for finally getting this important book out.

The book in of itself it fantastic and gives a peek into the extraordinary world of a creative genius whose light was removed from this earth. Subiquent u tube captions help expound on the creativity which is great to see for those of us who were not privy to see these shows first hand.I must add that the seller of this book that was listed as a collectable was very on point with all aspects surrounding the purchase of this book.

I absolutely love this book! The entire book centers around one collection - McQueen's "Horn of Plenty" from Autumn/Winter 2009, which happens to be one of my favorite McQueen collections. Incredible photography really showcases how much passion and talent McQueen had, as well as Sarah Burton and the rest of his team. Highly highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the creation of fashion.
