Poor quality gluing ruins what would be a good product
Would definitely not recommend this product at this time. Received the winder this morning and incredibly disappointed at the quality of the casing. The gluing process they have used is clearly defective, as can be seen from the photos I have attached. It is a shame as the product worked well and looked good other than this.I have requested a refund, but would have preferred having a properly glued product (a replacement option was not available on refund). Shame!

Silent and stylish
I'm not for one second claiming to be a watch winder expert. This is the first one I've owned. If you don't want to read the whole thing for more detail, this keeps your watch wound, is quiet and looks stylish. That said, I did my homework on what to look for and avoided several with poor or worrying reviews. I decided to take a punt on this one partly because I liked its looks (which seemed fairly unique) and partly because I liked the idea that this has been designed to not fail due to the belt drive. I was quite surprised this has so few reviews as for me this seemed an attractive specification and look. This is a looker. You can easily have this as a display piece. The polycarbonate cover is very clear and thick, giving it a serious jewellery case look. The base is black gloss polycarbonate and similarly good looking. Time will tell if these things fade.On the inside, the unit itself looks very convincingly like chromed steel but is again polycarbonate. It's surprisingly heavy due to the motor, I presume. All the switch gear and the power lead is round the back out of sight. This leaves it very minimalist looking with no flashing lights or LCD panels. I've never understood the appeal of such things so this is very much to my taste. The cushion for the watch is nice and compressible (feels like those memory foam mattresses) and springs out to grip even my massive diameter watch bracelet before pushing snugly back into the barrel. Once in there it shows no sign at all of wanting to slip round. There are two honest switches to set what mode you want it in at the rear. One decides off or on in three options, clockwise, anticlockwise or alternating. The second has varying numbers of turns per day. There's a recommended setting that works for most watches (the middle one) but you are advised to have it on the lowest setting that keeps your watch wound. There's also a high turns setting for fast winding (useful if you have a watch that has no manual wind option) that claims to need an hour to wind most watches fully from stopped. Should you accidentally leave it on this setting it defaults to a more reasonable long term setting to avoid overwinding your watch after a certain time. The whole feel of the piece is that of something that has been designed by people who actually want to wind your watch in a good looking unit in a way they know you will select sooner or later and who use one themselves. If you start it up at your normal get up time in the morning it will run for 14 hours on whatever program you selected then shut down for ten just in case you are the world's lightest sleeper and it's in your bedroom. I can't honestly see the need for this as it's almost totally silent. You literally cannot tell it is running unless you see the watch turning. That said, it's normal for a watch that's removed at night to follow this sort of pattern. In summary, this looks good, does what it sets out to do, is adjustable and is just about inaudible in operation. If it suddenly stops working I'll edit the review, but for now I recommend this to anyone who wants to display their watch while it's not on the wrist and keep it wound.Had to replace first unit as it rapidly developed a fault. No quibble replacement and the second unit seems fine; every manufacturer is allowed a rogue unit.

It’s like a stuttering motion now
I’ve now had this winder for 17 months. It now starting to show signs of failure. It’s getting noisier (was very quiet to start) and the rotation motion is beginning to stick during a revolution (but still completes the turn thou). It’s like a stuttering motion now. I would expect that it would jam soon. I don’t know if I’d buy if I knew the lifespan was 18 months more or less.

this product was purchased on the basis that it is super silent in action
The watch winder now produces a continuous buzzing sound when in use, which i find very distracting.this product was purchased on the basis that it is super silent in action, but after a few weeks it nowhas become irritating because of the buzzing sound.

Very happy so far
It is a bit early to say only having it a few weeks but am very happy so far. Due to work do not wear my watch for day's at a time and did not want to keep resetting it. This winder is very quiet and is in the bedroom and even with sensitive hearing can b early hear it, was not sure about a perspex cover thought it might feel cheap but it is nice and thick and feel nice also shows the watch nicely and see the time. The settings on it has given me what I want for my watch (had to send back another one I got as not what it seid in the add, Amazon were great with its return) The only thing I have done is put a bit of ribbon on the cushion to make it easyer to get out to put watch on at night, but that might be down to me having big hands but it does help a lot.

Didn’t work
This wonder didn’t work when we got it so it’s been returned! Postage to return it to Slovakia cost £40 which was the cheapest option and I’ve now got to claim this back

Great
Very good, well pleased, good quality, silent motor, great looking with my bell and Ross watch in it, I like the way you can have it stopped at night time, when it does stop the watch is always at the same spot
