After Negan brutally forces Rick and the group to fall under his control, they will be tested in ways never seen before and forced to rise up to face an all-out battle with Negan and his army. Review: worth watching. - Really great. Loved every minute. The fact it had subtitles made it even better. Review: Necessary Evils ? - I have watched a considerable number of dark and harrowing dramas over the year's but, rarely anything as dark and harrowing as this first episode of season 7 of The Walking Dead. In gruesome detail, two of our favourite characters are bludgeoned to death, as we stare, helplessly mesmerized by the sheer horror of it all. As a Christian who values humanity, l found myself in a moral quandary as l witnessed such brutally immoral material, yet, l was gripped, gripped every bit as much as the metaphorical rabbit, confronted by the hypnotic grip of its predator. Yet, as a long time fan of The Walking Dead l continued to watch, grasped by a concern for the plight of characters l identified with, thoroughly hooked, thoroughly shocked. And so, why l do l give this a 5 ? The Walking Dead is quality adult drama. There is nothing gratuitous here. We cannot just close our eyes when confronted by evil depravity; we cannot just turn away from horrors of the world and hope that such things do not happen, in the REAL WORLD. Congratulations to all those involved in forcing us to confront the evils of the world and, by doing so, make us contemplate the meaning of depravity that we rarely encounter in our cocooned world's.

It doesn't get any better than this...braaaainz!
Zombies gore and action, If you don't like these three things in a TV series then you best stay well clear of this one. The fantastic TV series the walking dead is all about the end of civilisation and the people that are unlucky enough to survive, as a virus turns people (dead people) into the living dead. These baby's don't just want brains but the tasty flesh off your every day human. Kids, adults and seniors all want a piece of you, literally! If you love zombies and gore your going to go orgasmic watching this. Better than a lot of horror films, i was generally shocked at some of the scenes which is ALWAYS a great compliment to the producers, and the story line is to die for. :P I would have givien it 10 stars if i could.

They Walk Among Us - Pure gruesome entertainment
I watched this on BluRay after watching all the previous seasons again, all in a row, in a pure zombie-fest. The BluRay video and audio is excellent but what truly is super excellent is, believe it or not, some of the extras which should be viewed after the episodes. They are frequently hilarious and always informative. Really, the extras are a must and anyone not seeing them is missing out. Also of note is the soundtrack by Bear McCreary who really should get a mention. He's a superb composer and the soundtrack at the end of Season 7, is particularly worth hearing. At the time of writing, you can hear some (or all of) the WD soundtrack on YouTube. Of course, as many WD fans will agree, Seasons 6 and 7 could not top Season 5 and there were times when Season 7 kept lapsing into maudlin moments but overall it was great. Episode One of 7 is a bit tough to take but that is more down to emotional angst than gore (although gore is also present - is it ever not in The Walking Dead?) Some of the script writing on S7 is a bit iffy, to say the least. So many implausibilities and one might wonder why anyone would follow Rick to the kitchen never mind in fighting for their lives against zombies and the ruthless living. Turns out that the latter are the ones to watch out for but we all know that anyway. The characters in the WD are seriously good, including the baddies, and we all have our favourites and those that we are rooting to have an early demise and put us out of our misery. For the harsh critics of Season 7, I would ask 'where is your sense of humour?'. If nothing else S7 is full of entertaining wonder at the stupidity of some people and lack of ingenuity. If you like to laugh in the face of other people's adversity, you might like the website that I found. Just search for FunnyorDie The Walking Dead but do be aware that the reviews there are loaded with spoilers as well as hilarious and astute comments.

So far...slowish..nothing major after seeing 4 parts.
Well, what's left to say. Glenn was smashed by Lucille in front of the eyes og pregnant Meggie. Too much. I have seen first four of the Season 7. The third one is completely about Carol. It is so boring. There is about 25mins! conversation between her and the King with tiger along him. Seriously? Besides Carol is getting on my nerv with her running away from the community getting in trouble, crying...She will hopefully get herself together and start contributing to her friends. Daryl went looking for her once again and where he is now? Captured, kidnapped by this sociopat Negan. I hope the season 7 will start picking up, because so far it is quite dull. And Rick is completely squashed gone so far. It is such a turn off. Six seasons the group was surviving carrying for each other only to get such a blow! This Walking Dead better have more seasons to come because come on, you got to get your funs satisfied :) Of course I will continue watching it, I got so far with a few years of break after the 3rd series. Good luck to them and hopefully Maggie and her unborn baby will go ahead in peace. But who knows. This couple was so unfairly treated. A little mistake from the writer of the comics I guess. Glenn, Rick and Daryl were the leaders. Bad asses. Cheers!

Utterly utterly brilliant. If you can't stand the violence remember that ...
Utterly utterly brilliant. If you can't stand the violence remember that this is make-believe and that far worse has and is happening in real life - and in any case I'd say that the Carol/Lizzie story was harder to watch and more profoundly disturbing than this. This couldn't have worked with a tame, off-screen "Oh look he killed so-and-so" - it had to be graphic. No one will truly *enjoy* this (and should probably be locked up if they do!). The characters and story only work in TWD if they take the audience with them in a very real sense. We are meant to feel drained and hopeless. To me Negan could have driven the final nail home but he's too clever (and needy) for that... I guess we'll see but I for one am looking forward to finding out.

Good Walking Dead Season but violent
Season 6 ended on a big cliffhanger and Season 7 opens with a violent and sickening end to that cliffhanger. Thereafter, the villain, Negan, who has built up his own empire dominates the proceedings. Rick and his group find themselves in thrall to Negan and are looking for a way to turn the tables on him. This season also introduces The Kingdom, run by a former zookeeper who styles himself as a King, and the Garbage or Trash people led by a woman called Jadis. All very interesting, all very surreal but very violent in places. Good season.

Great Season. Ignore the Whiners.
One has to really wonder about all the whining regarding season 7, ultimately an excellent season if one can just deal with the fact that there is a lot of world building in the first half, and now taking place in 5 separate locations (Kingdom, Hillside, Alexandria, Oceanside, and the Saviors camp), it's just not going to be like the first few seasons. It's a bigger, more complicated world. Please deal with it. That said, the second half of the season is fantastic, and I really enjoyed the finale. On top of the whining, are those who don't like Negan for some reason. He's "too violent." He "talks too much." Some blogger bozo even tried to say that the Guv'nor was more interesting and had more humanity! Really? The Guv was a psychopath. Negan is interesting because while he is tough, and he is brutal, he actually has a system, and for the most part, under insane conditions (that would be a zombie apocalypse), his system and ethos kind of work. There are also parallels between him and Rick, that it seems are lost on most people. And nevermind those who have not read the comics. Asking Negan not to be long winded is kind of like asking Darth Vader not to breathe all raspy and all. The real interesting thing about the Blu Ray edition is whether they really did two takes like they said they were going to: The "G" rated take that got aired, and the "F-bomb" version that plays it real to the comic Negan, who dropped F-bombs like nobody's business. If you're a real Walking Dead fan, you of course have already seen season 7, so none of this will be any surprise....
