OXO Good Grips Y Peeler

I have been finding it difficult to peel potatoes and other veg with the stainless steel peeler I’d used for years. With issues of arthritis in my hand it was painful.The difference this tool has made is incredible. So easy to use with no pressure on my hands. It simply glides through the peel and removes it cleanly.It is very sharp so it will be important to concentrate when using it to ensure it is only the veg skin that is removed!

I’ve had this Y peeler since December 2023 and it’s honestly one of those kitchen tools that just keeps going. It's super easy to use and the blade is still sharp and glides through veg like it did when I first bought this. I’ve used it on everything from carrots to potatoes and even tougher stuff like sweet potatoes and it’s never struggled once.The handle is really comfortable to hold even when you’re doing a big batch of peeling and it doesn’t slip out of your hand like some cheaper ones do which for me is a big bonus. It’s easy to clean and still looks great after loads of washes. For something so simple it’s become one of my most used kitchen bits, reliable, sturdy and just does the job perfectly. Definitely worth every penny and would highly recommend this.

When the blades lose some of their sharpness, I found that they could occasionally slip while peeling, which posed a potential risk. Unfortunately, I did cut myself once due to this slippage. It's important to note that this incident occurred after approximately five years of use, which is a testament to the durability and longevity of the peeler.In terms of longevity, the OXO Good Grips Y Peeler held up remarkably well. After five years of regular use, I decided to replace it due to the slight loss of sharpness and the incident mentioned above. However, I consider five years of reliable service to be impressive for a kitchen tool.Overall, the OXO Good Grips Y Peeler is a reliable and efficient kitchen companion. Its initial sharpness and comfortable grip make it a joy to use, providing precise and effortless peeling. While it can become slightly dull over time, resulting in occasional slipping, this occurrence is infrequent and may require replacement after several years of use. Considering its performance and durability, I still believe the OXO Good Grips Y Peeler is a worthwhile addition to any kitchen.

18 months on, functions as good as new.I’m a total oxo nerd. I’m one of those people that loves staying loyal to a brand when I know it’s worthy.OXO just make good quality home/kitchen utensils that work, really well and last.I went through loads of cheap peelers before finding oxo and never looked back.I like potatoes, so I’ve become somewhat of a pro peeler now. Seriously though, I can peel fast with this beast!! Of course as per the name, the grip is excellent.I know, I made a video showing it, height of boredom or just plain sad, but I like to celebrate a good product!

The peeler is also very durable; after 8 months of regular use, it’s still in perfect condition and just as sharp as the day I got it.However, the sharpness can be a double-edged sword. While it’s fantastic for larger items, I’ve found it tricky to use on smaller, rounder items like small potatoes. It’s easy to accidentally catch your fingers, so I prefer to use a different peeler for those.Overall, I highly recommend the OXO Good Grips Y Peeler. It’s the best peeler I’ve tried, and its sharpness and comfort make it a joy to use. Just be cautious with smaller items, and you’ll love it as much as I do!

Ik heb al diverse merken dunschillers geprobeerd maar geen enkele is zo goed als de Oxo good grips. Schilt niet te dik en schilt heel soepel. Ik heb er 2 voor mezelf en 2 voor mijn kinderen gekocht. Echte aanrader!

Very helpful for me

Bought this for my elderly mum who has some issues using one of her hands after a stroke. With this she now has no problems what so ever peeling potatoes, carrots etc. as normal. The rubberized finish also gives a good grip when it's wet.
