American Originals 6-Cupcake, Red

I chose this product as I needed to bake about 200 cakes for my twins birthday party and did not want the trouble of the oven and all the time it would take.Product arrived on time and was as described on the box. Easy to use and it has seen been put through a lot of use in a short time. No need to clean just wipe over. The cupcakes came out PERRRRFECT like it was done by professionals. I loved it so much, I have even recommended it to my sister who feel in love with the little red compact appliance in my kitchen.

bought as a birthday present for my 9 year old who loves it. She has "baked" most weeks for Brownies, the swimming club and local events at the village hall. She has varied the size of the cups depending on the event and they have all come out well. In a nutshell - easy to use and perfect results every time (so far).*update*Just over a year later and it's still going strong. She tends to do 3-4 batchs at a time, and it's definitely safer, cheaper and more reliable than heating up the oven. I'm quite happy to let her loose, on her own, in the kitchen with this. She has tried many different variations on recipes and have had no disasters - Chocolate orange chip is a winner! It's used every week once at a fundraiser it was baking from 10:00 till 15:00. Definitely recommended.

Really love this little machine. Only downside is that the cupcakes aren't particularly big. They do however make the perfect, moist and tasty cupcake so would definitely recommend this product for the price!

10 times easier, cheaper and more fun than baking in the oven. My daughter and I were busy making cupcakes and muffins within minutes after receiving it. It's very light and compact, so we'll be taking it with us for a birthday party abroad. The green light indicator is great, but I tend to give it another 3 minutes so they're brown/golden. It makes 6 cupcakes or muffins at a time, and I noticed the ones at the back are fluffier, especially the one in the right corner. The silicone muffin cases I have work very well with this. It comes with a recipe book and an icing syringe with several nozzles.Update: got another one, because I left my old one behind when we moved. Just as brilliant. Here's a pic of our first batch of muffins. We didn't havevany icing, so I just topped them with melted chocolate. Yum-yum!

Not delivered on time. The cake size are what l would call small fairy cakes rather than cupcakes. Have a Lakeland discontinued maker which is a better quality than this maker. But have to say you get what you pay for. It did bake the cakes as normal - only smaller. Reason l gave only 2 star wad because delivery should have been next day and was 2 days late.

Did think the cupcake American originals was ver good. There should be for stars not just one.RegardsAnne Jehan

I opened this up as soon as it arrived and within 30 mins had my first batch of cupcakes cooling on a rack. I bought this product so that I can make my kids snacks for play time without the huge list of extra ingredients that come with shop bought products!I love the fact that I only have to make 6 cupcakes at a time which is just the right amount for us, and not having to heat up my whole oven to do so.The product came with free cake casings and an icing kit which was a pleasant suprise, though I haven't used them yet.Apparently I can also bake muffins in it, so am going to try that next.Be aware that the cup holder is suited to standard cupcake size, so don't be disappointed that you won't be able to cook anything larger.That said, it's just the right size to give my kids a treat without making them so full they won't eat their tea....... and I won't feel too guilty about snaffling the occasional one either.All in all, so far so good.

I have been attempting to get someone to buy one of these for a birthday or Christmas for years to no avail, so I finally bought one for myself. Eager to make my first batch, I got my three primary school aged boys to help. Apart from patience with slapdash children, eluding me (how do teachers do it?) the process is the same as usual oven baked cupcake baking.The machine needs to be prepared the first time you use it, coated in oil and heated for 5 minutes. Despite this, the smell of new plastic components cooking was quite unpleasant. After 12 minutes the cakes were anaemic so I left the in for a couple more, and again. In all 16 minutes to get a nice golden colour, when eaten, they were not soft and fluffy, but dry and over cooked. The next batch I ignored the colour and took them out at 12 mins, they tasted better but looked unappetising. The cakes are very small compared with the ones you would bake in an oven, I think replacement cases might be challenging to find.So I am disappointed and now have a difficult argument with Mr C to justify buying yet another storage hungry kitchen gadget!
