Like other reviewers
Like other reviewers, was skeptical at first, but on a closer inspection these look like real bone (not sure from what animal though). They don't melt like plastic and are a lot harder than plastic. Not sure whether the abalone is real or not, but it looks nice and the pins are as described. Jury is still out whether they make any difference to the tone of my guitar though (Taylor 314ce) great value pins nonetheless.

The are well made and a nice colour but unfortunately didn't fit my PRS acoustic being both wider at the top and shorter in length than the original pins. In the attached photo the PRS pin is on the left and the bone one on the right.

Very nice
Excellent value, and look good, though I have no idea if they are bone or not - will give the benefit of the doubt. They are a little wider than some pins you can get, so give some thought to their likely fit on your guitar when purchasing.

A great addition
These bone bridge pins improved my Blueridge acoustic guitar’s already wonderful tone, even more so than the brass bridge pins I had.

Must have for acoustic guitarists!
I really can’t overstate the amazing difference in tone that comes from such a simple and inexpensive upgrade as bone bridge pins. Of course the icing on top of the cake is the fact that these bridge pins with the abalone inlays look fantastic as well. Highly recommend these for any acoustic guitar.

Looks like real bone and real abalone to me.
I was really skeptical about these because of the price (a little over $6USD). However, these are the real deal. I don't know what type of bone is used but it is real bone. Mine had one pin that had a hairline crack in it. A bit of model glue sealed it and it seams to be fine. They were shipped in a padded envelope. Maybe that is why one was cracked. The abalone is nicely done, not perfect but still nice.I used them on a Taylor 414ce. The sound quality achieved by these was brighter than the ebony pins they replaced. Actually, I really like the ebony pins on the E and B strings and the bone on the rest. However, the color contrast was more than I could stomach. All in all, give them a try. They are only $7 and might improve the sound of your acoustic by hundreds. One more side note......I would recommend filing the end of your pins to 45°. There was a noticeable improvement after I filed mine. Studies show that this is the optimal angle for premium bridge pins. It has something to do with how the ball end of the strings rest on the end of the pins. It took me about a minute per pin.

Nice
These are nice looking pins and good quality as well. My only "problem" is that I'll never understand why these never fit without sanding... I own over 20 Acoustic guitars and these won't fit ANY of them without sanding them down. This isn't a huge deal but you need to be VERY careful when doing it. If you take too much off they are useless.
