Early days, but as described. Time will tell how the handle bears up, but the guarantee is a reassurance should problems occur. Has been subject to heavy digging without issue so far. Good to use, nice balance, convenient weight - neither too heavy or too light. Well finished. Current price of £29.99 makes this a seemingly good purchase.

Initial reactions are a strong, high quality garden tool. The wide grip is comfortable and it doesn’t feel too heavy. Comes with a useful blade cover for post-cleanup. A tiny detail for me, I guess this item is made outside the UK. Consequently it could have been ‘badged’ at the factory, or possibly S&J’s warehouse over here. Either way, a little more care could have been taken applying branding to the shaft. One crooked and wrinkled sticker looks slapdash. A poor attention to detail and so easily avoided

A good sturdy spade that makes light work of digging. Dirt falls off the stainless steel making light work of wielding this spade. The turned metal at the top making it comfortable on the foot to push into soil.

A really good quality item but for a mid range price. Spear and Jackson are a brand that says quality and I've had a number of their items over the years. Quite expensive in comparison to some others but they last far longer so are worth the investment. However, after my ex managed to snap several of my gardening tools. I'm not sure how, most likely using them for jobs they weren't designed for. Like, my trowel as a tyre iron or my shovel as a car prop for example. I stopped buying more expensive items as it wasn't worth the embolism of rage. However, now he's the ex and my tools are safe I bought this, not as expensive and doesnt have the wonderful wooden handle but still a great product and far superior to other similar items in the same range.
