TomTom L131450 Sat Nav Adhesive Dashboard Mount Disks for All Sat Nav Models , Black

I have a Tom Tom but I bought this in order to use a go pro camera in my car. The go pro mount has the same type of suction feature as a Tom Tom mount so is a perfect size. I have a Honda Civic which has a nice flat central surface which is the ideal location for my go pro and Tom Tom which I also have. East to apply, you pick your spot, peel off the back and push firmly into place. I have used both the go pro and Tom Tom and the disc has held both items in place. They are perfect for my car, as I said it has a flat surface. For our other car a Nissan Qashqai, I don't think they would work as well, if at all, as the trim is not smooth, it has a textured finish. I have a weighted portable mount for this car. Having read a few reviews I would not have purchased this item for the Nissan. Hopefully there is a Nissan Qashqai owner who has used one and can give people an idea about its suitability. No more marks on the windscreen, so no clues for would be thieves if you leave your Tom Tom in the car. The disc just looks like part of my dashboard trim.

having previously had a car with built in Sat Nav, newer car meant buying a portable sat nav. However - I hate trailing wires in cars with a passion, so decided to get the portable system hardwired, this neatly stowed the cable! - I trawled various forums on the net before opting for these ( there are two in the box) they are great - do exactly as they are supposed to and it also means I can put my sat nav in and out of use as I wish, with only the disc on the dashboard remaining, which is unobtrusive and also avoids my other pet hate - all the rings on the windscreen - as other people have commented - in some states/continents it is illegal to have anything attached to your screen - these would make an ideal solution. Make sure you know where you want to place the disc exactly before applying! I also thought they were excellent value.

Having read all the previous reviews on this product, I was a little concerned over whether it would do the job. So I did wipe the surface where it was to be fitted and made sure it was the flattest area as well. I fixed the Tom Tom to the surface only to find it fell off within twenty meters from the start of my journey. I wiped both surfaces clean and repositioned it and it went the whole journey of 200 miles without a problem. This is a must for taller people as most of the newer Tom Tom devices are just to far away if stuck to the screen. Glad I bought it

You will need them if you buy refurbished, mine came without these pads, they are good but it's annoying when you are adding more expense after you have purchased refurbished and then you think I may well have purchased new.

I bought a set of these adhesive disks after buying a tomtom car kit in order to use my ipod as a satnav. I don't like attaching the holder to the windscreen as this leaves the telltale marks to wannabe thieves. The disks worked perfectly for a number of months, assuming you can find a suitably flat part of your dashboard you shouldn't have any problems getting the disks to stick. They were a godsend until the hot weather arrived. I have unfortunately discovered that when the interior of the car gets really warm on a hot day, the adhesive fails and the disk falls off along with whatever was stuck onto it. I thought this might be a one off so I tried another disk but after another hot day the same thing happened. This problem has made an otherwise brilliant product unfeasible for me if I will have to buy another pack whenever there's a hot day. I have already spent an extra £10 replacing the disks and that is after a relatively rubbish summer with very few hot days, imagine what you would spend during a decent summer! I have since bought a dashboard beanbag in order to attach my ipod holder to this. I am lucky enough to have a suitably flat dashboard to do this otherwise it might not have been an option. You can get a decent one of these for just over a tenner, definitely worth it for saving the extra money you would spend on replacing frazzled disks. It is actually quite frustrating because the disks worked well aside from on hot days, were quite inconspicuous and allowed you to place your device wherever you wanted. I haven't seen any other reviews mentioning this but I don't imagine I'm the only one to experience this issue.

Firstly after reading some reviews I opted to pay a little more than the min price and ordered direct from Amazon hoping I would get the original product. Thankfully the item arrived in an original fully sealed TomTom Pack (sealed hard plastic casing) showing compatability with GO, XL, One XL, One and Start. With regard to using the item take care with the position. On my first attempt I mounted the disc on an area of the dash which was not completely flat and had a pattern. The disc appear to stick OK but once the TomTom was mounted the problems started. After about 10 mins the Easyport became unstuck and continued to do this every 10 - 20 minutes irrespective of whether the 'sucker' was dry, clean, wet etc. After the 4th attempt the dash disc then also started to show signs of movement. I therefore removed the disc (The glue can be cleaned off with warm soapy water although this does take some time and I would bet on some surfaces leave a mark. I would also guess that the disc cannot be successfully re-used without some more glue). The second disc was then positioned on a relatively flat and smooth part of the dash (which was cleaned prior to application) and the result was perfect. The Easyport sticks until removed and thankfully the disc has also showed no signed of movement. I am therefore happy to give this item 5* as, as long as you mount on a clean, flat and smooth part of your dash it should work realy well.

This sits on a curved surface on a Mazda6 dash, original came loose after a couple of years, with the adhesive failing between the sticky pad and the plastic plate as well as between pad and dash. So I replaced with one of these. So far so good, 2000 miles later it is still stuck and supporting the SatNav. Gave the dash a better clean this time and left it to set for a bit longer before putting it into use. Just FYI, the original adhesive took a lot of getting off, but it did come all the way off and did not leave any marks / discoloration of the dash / sticky residue. Took me a good half hour to get it all off though, but I's expect the same of this one.

I've purchased this twice. I find them great. They work much better than mounting a suction cup to your windshield (which never works due to weather changes, moisture, and the curved windshield glass). I've even used the mounting disk in the summer, and the adhesive did not come off or melt in the heat (at least for me, they stayed in place). I've been using them for about 2 years now. However, follow the instructions during installation; in other words, (1) make sure to clean the area with rubbing alcohol before you put down the disc (both times I ordered this, for me at least, it came included with a pre-moistened, sealed, rubbing alcohol wipe - I didn't have to buy anything extra), and then (2) wait 24 hours after placing the disk before you actually use it to mount a device. Yes, I really did wait a full day to let the adhesive set properly on to the dashboard. Therefore, no, you can't put it down and start using it immediately that same day, if you actually want it to stay attached to your dashboard.

Ich habe mir die Platten bestellt, schneller Versand und noch schnellere Montage. Zur Not gibt es auch noch eine zweite Platte, von daher sollte man erstmal Ruhe haben. Das Ganze wurde in meinem Firmenfahrzeug ( VW Passat Kombi )montiert und hält bombenfest, auch auf ruckligen Pisten. Wenn ich jetzt noch eine Lösung finde, dass 12 V Kabel irgendwie verschwinden zu lassen, bin ich selig ;-) Fazit: Für wenig Geld eine einfache Möglichkeit, sein Tom Tom stylisch von der Scheibe wegzubekommen. Kann es also zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt empfehlen. Interessieren würde mich allerdings noch die Lebensdauer... Update Mai 2010: Hält nach wie vor bombenfest und es ist ja auch noch eine Ersatzdisk da...Wunderbar und zwingend empfehlenswert... Sieht um einiges besser aus als manch eigeninitiierte Halterung, die ich in so manchen Autos sehe ;-) Was mich nach wie vor sehr beindruckt, ist,dass selbst bei heftigen Stößen das Navi sehr fest steht...Selbst wenn das Ganze jetzt in zwei Monaten runter kommt, hätte ich noch Ersatz und mal ehrlich ,für das Geld klassisches win win Geschäft... Nächstes Update August 2010: Und weiterhin hält die Platte wunderbar...Echt ne super Sache,wenn sie sich denn irgendwann auch hoffentlich spurenlos entfernen lässt ;D Update Mai 2011: Ich werde jetzt mal die erste Platte tauschen, da diese so langsam doch dazu führt, dass mein Navi öfters mal runter fällt...Aber das sage ich nach über einem Jahr für einen Lachpreis.Von daher weiterhin 5 Sterne Deluxe.
