Really good selection both of new and old songs. This book is ideal for those who can read sheet music to see the melody and then play the chords.The only thing missing in essence preventing a beginner would be the strumming patterns. Essentially, you pick what you play. It just needs to be in time. Eg 4/4 time you have 4 beats to a bar, so you can choose if you want DUDU, DDDD, DxDD, UDUx, etc.What this book isn't, is a YouTube tutorial that states the chords and strum pattern. It gives the melody, tempo and the chords. An element of work is needed to think through the piece and decide on your own patterns as opposed to getting someone else's chords/strums in a tutorial.To help, I've included a pic of a good page from another book. It gives an overview of the strummimg options and how you apply those to sheet music. Look for the time signature eg 4/4. Simply play the chord for the number of bars and use the most appropriate strum technique or whatever you fancy. In my pic attached there are 3 bars of 4 beats, so you can choose DUDU for a simple variant or you can do DDUUDU DDUUDU (eg the island strum), played as above it's 12 beats so covers the 3 bars, try and see what you like.I mention all this because some reviews say 'not helpful for beginners' but don't say why, and other say 'amazing' without qualifying the reasons It worked for them.In short this is excellent to be able to quickly play songs but you need to understand timings (4/4,3/4, etc) to know a strum pattern. The melody and tempo are all there but you need to know sheet music to hum out the tune. If you do that, it's easy as pie..Some great resources online for basic sheet music interpretation and it's a great skill to learn as it enables you to know the melody, lyrics, key, tempo and chords for the song all on a simple two page spread.

Book is nice size with ring binder style so easy to turn pages. 101 hits not so sure about that and would suggest not suitable for beginners.

Not a book for beginners, most of the tunes have complex chord changes.

The book is lovely and the paper and contents great quality however the binding is a little too open which made the back page come loose however I just closed the binding tighter and I think it will be ok now.

Amazing buy

Quite a good mix of songs, but not suitable for the beginner m

Would strongly recommend. This book comes with a good variety of well known songs ranging from easier to harder. My son and I have enjoyed getting to know the music together a little better and playing these. Music is presented for both chords and the tune.
