The ideal popcorn maker that ticks all the boxes. Initially hesitant about the price, but totally worth it.
OK I bought one for myself in a shop and loved it so much I bought one online for my mum and sister. I wasn't sure I could justify the price initially, but it's totally worth it (popcorn is my go-to snack!).Pros:SO easy to use. Just pour in the popcorn, pop the lid on lightly and then in the microwave for 3 minutes. I usually pour in a tiny bit of coconut or olive oil, or a vegan butter with the kernels so that the seasoning sticks (usually just a bit of salt).Less washing up to do - as you eat from the same bowl you cooked the popcorn in, you don't have pans and bowls you need to wash afterwards.Less packaging to waste - no more paper and cardboard waste from microwave popcorn!Healthier - you know what you're putting in, none of this chemical stuff that they put in packets of microwave popcorn, and you can add healthy oils to get a good bit of essential fat into your diet, but if you want to keep the calories low, they pop nicely with just the steam.Beautiful, fluffy popcorn. I always struggled to get the same kind of popcorn when making it in the pan, so this is ideal. Super tasty and light. If there are some kernels leftover that didn't pop, you can usually pop them successfully the second time round - no more waste!Folds away neatly and takes up less room in the kitchen.Cons:Because it folds away, it's a bit flimsy and washing it is a bit annoying - but you get used to it and find a way around it. I usually fold it down and wash it that way, as it's sturdier, or I kind of turn it on its side and rotate it as I wash.

Great popcorn popper
OK - so this piece of kit is NOT cheap, and that alone will put a lot of folks off. BUT - follow the directions, and it does the job, and in theory should last practically forever. I like plain popcorn - some only like it with lots of butter/salt/whatever. So for me, it's great, and takes up very little space in a cupboard.I forgot that my microwave is 900 watts, so I burned my first batch. My fault - the instructions clearly state that they apply to an 800 watt microwave. I then reduced to 90% power, and found that was also a bit too much, so now I use 80% power (roughly equivalent to 720 watts) for 2 minutes + 30 seconds. I also use about 1/4 cup (American standard measuring cup) of popcorn, not 1/2 cup, which IMHO is far too much. I get a nearly full container, with a few un-popped externals ("old maids"), but you get those with any method, whether hot air popper, stove-top or even the large commercial corn poppers.Would I buy it again? Yes, price notwithstanding, I definitely would. My only caveat is think about your *taste* in popcorn. This produces a great batch of plain popcorn. Yes, you can add melted butter and salt, but my years of experience with hot-air poppers and microwave popcorn done in a bag (not a commercial bag) suggests that a hot-air popped batch just doesn't take additives as well. If you like a plain, healthy low-calorie snack, this does the job superbly.

Quick, easy and delicious popcorn with no oil needed
I was skeptical but very pleasantly surprised! I considered the electronic air poppers but didn't really want another kitchen appliance taking up space. I have tried the stovetop kind (WhirleyPop) and these work great with oil, but I'd rather avoid oil to save calories. Anyway, the popper is great. You just measure out the popcorn kernels into the bowl, add the lid and stick it in the microwave for 2-4 minutes. You have to pay close attention or it will burn quite easily. Almost all of the kernals pop and the popcorn is light and crispy. I would give it 5 stars but I think the price is high for what it is. I used "Love Life Popcorn Maize" from Waitrose (510g for £1.99).

Brilliant in Design, Execution, and in the Popping of Corn
I have to say that I am sorry in advance as this review is going to sound like I either invented this thing or in some way will profit from said review. I did not and I will not but here is my review! This thing is absolutely BRILLIANT!Let's start from the fact that it makes good popcorn. I just got it on Sunday morning at 9:00am and though it was not a time when one would usually have popcorn I had to give it a try. For a test case I just put in a tablespoon of kernels and did a quick grind of salt. Into the microwave at 600 watts for three minutes. Just before the timer had expired the popcorn stopped popping so I stopped the microwave. The popcorn was pretty much perfect. I ate it all. There MAY have been a single kernel left unpopped. Brilliant. So here are some other things to like about it. I was able to pull it out of the microwave without a pot holder and without burning myself. The fact that I had only done a partial batch helped with that but the material that it is made from is the larger factor. Brilliant. This also allows the popper to be the serving container right out of the microwave. Brilliant. The lid of the maker fits inside the maker such that it rises with the popcorn. This keeps the heat and moisture contained and presumably contributes to the taste of the end product as well as the high success rate in popping kernels. Brilliant. Finally, for storage the thing folds into itself taking up a third of the room than if it did not fold. Brilliant! If you like popcorn you gotta get one.

Buy it now, you won't regret it!
This is incredible! Ordered yesterday and received today (so also very impressed with Amazon delivery) and I've just made the best popcorn I've ever made!I used to make popcorn on the stovetop but I could never make a consistently good batch - sometimes it tasted burnt as it was difficult to get all the kernels to pop and quite often it would be quite greasy due to the need for oil using this method. So I switched to using the microwave as I thought it would be easier and healthier. I used a large Pyrex dish and lid but it took forever for the kernels to pop so the whole batch would burn. After receiving the Lekue and feeling how flexible it is, I can see that the Pyrex dish was probably too thick for the heat to penetrate. I think the shape of the Lekue makes a difference to how well it pops the corn. Yes there were a few unpopped but I expect that because you will always get some duds. But all the others were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, just like the premium stuff that is now all the rage.I'm going to be making popcorn on a regular basis now it's so easy: I filled to the line, sprayed a couple of squirts of olive oil, sprinkle of salt and sugar. My microwave is 1000 watt and the next lowest setting is 600 watt so I cooked for 5 minutes. It wasn't quite sweet enough so I dusted the cooked popcorn with a little icing sugar as well. I'm really looking forward to experimenting with different flavours.

Simply Brilliant
This simple item has been a revolution to me - so fuss-free compared to the hob which can be hit and miss, and no chance of technical glitches like many complain of when buying the popcorn machines. Comes in a lovely box which you can keep for storage, along with a recipe booklet. Makes perfect popcorn every time if you get the timing just right after one or two tries - I have a 750w microwave and find 2:40mins is perfect, any longer and the popcorn gets a slightly singed smell (which is how you know you're over cooking it). I also find it tastes much better with a dollop of extra virgin olive oil.Yes there are a few seeds left over always, but same goes for using the hob and machines so I don't see this as a problem - especially since popcorn is so cheap. No idea why people would buy ready-made flavoured popcorn or the machines when it can so easily be made at home using this. I can totally recommend.

Great product but needs a holder to get it out of the microwave.
I'm happy with this but not massively. It does a good job of making lovely popcorn but it leaves a lot of kernels. You can't put it on too long to cook as it'll burn as I found out and makes a horrid smell and mess. Go with less time over more s you'll end up with ruined popcorn. It's nice that you can add flavourings to it before it's cooked. The flavourings then mix with it as its popping away. The bowl itself is very flimsy and would benefit from having a holder to sit in to help when taking the cooked popcorn out of the microwave. The popcorn itself is lovely and cooked perfectly.

Popcorn pops good in this tub
I'm trying to give healthy snacks for my family and have been trying various ways of cooking popcorn - on the stove, microwaved etc. I never liked the mircowavable bags from supermarkets because they had added salt or sugar.I tried microwaving kernals in various containters with disappointing results, mostly that the kernels didn't pop or if they did it was very lack lustre with small butterfly pops.I've been very impressed with this product for the following reasons:-The container is- easy to clean- easy to store because it folds up.- you can add flavourings without calories being compromised.- it's a serving bowl as well as a cooking bowl.-Most importantly, there's something about the design of this product that makes the popcorn come out consistently good. We're looking for weight loss snack alternatives and this does it for us.

Quick & Easy!
Does what it says - makes popcorn and folds away easily. The bowl is a soft silicone and doesn't feel too hot to hold when removing from microwave, unlike paper bag popcorn. The lid has a sort of suction so you don't need to worry about it getting loose and letting kernels fly free in the microwave.A great alternative to a pot on stove, which I find messy and time consuming.

Healthiest (and most portable) way to make popcorn
This popper hits all the marks:- Healthy: No weird chemical liners or plastic off-gassing.- Easy: Simple to use and cleans up in seconds.- Portable: It’s so packable; it’s coming on vacation with me!- Taste: Better than any bagged popcorn I've had (I used to buy those and they're not good for you and full of chemicals)- It’s worth every penny for the peace of mind regarding food safety.Highly recommended!

10 STAR RATING!!!! BEST POPCORN POPPER EVER USED!!!
This is the BEST & EASIEST popcorn popper I ever used!!! It makes the most delicious popcorn in minutes. I just received it Yesterday and already made 5 batches of popcorn! It pops the corn fast and evenly and leaves very little if any unpopped kernels. I only used 1/4 C kernels and the popper was almost filled to the top with popped corn. I used Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn and all 5 batches were FANTASTIC!!! I set my micro-oven at 4 minutes and listened for the popping to slow down. As soon as the POPPING SLOWED DOWN, I removed the popper from the micro-oven. MOST BATCHES TOOK LESS THAN 2 MINUTES!!! The popcorn made with sugar and splenda required LESS COOKING TIME. I swirled some hot water and soap in the popper after use and clean up was a breeze! Nothing stuck to the popper, not even granulated sugar!HERE ARE THE RECIPES FOR THE 5 DIFFERENT BATCHES:#1: NO OIL.1/4 C Kernels + 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt.Stir salt with kernels before popping. The popcorn was very good, similar to air popped, but a lighter texture.#2: OIL1/4 C Kernels + 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt +1 TBS Canola OilStir all the ingredients together in the popper before popping. This batch was TO DIE FOR!!!!All the kernels popped and the popcorn had a buttery taste with a hint of saltiness.#3: Oil + Wilton Butter Flavoring1/4 C Kernels + 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt +1 TBS Canola Oil +1/8 tsp Wilton Butter FlavoringAdd all the ingredients into the popper and stir them with a spoon before popping. This batch had a really buttery flavor with the perfect amount of salt. My family devoured this batch and wanted more!#4 Kettle Corn.1/4 C Kernels + 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt +1 TBS Canola Oil + 1/8 tsp Wilton Butter Flavoring + 1TBS + 1 tsp Granulated White SugarAdd all the ingredients into the popper and stir them with a spoon to evenly coat, before popping. This was sooooooooo GOOD!!!!! This Popcorn TASTED EXACTLY LIKE KETTLE CORN that you would purchase at a fair!!!Just let the popped corn cool a minute before touching; the sugar gets hot.#5 SPLENDA KETTLE CORN: THE BEST!!!!!!!! AS GOOD AS "REAL SUGAR" VERSION!!!1/4 C Kernels + 1/8 tsp Kosher Salt +1 TBS Canola Oil + 1/8 tsp Wilton Butter Flavoring + 6 (tsp sized) packages of SplendaMix the Splenda with all the ingredients before popping. This was as good as the batch made with sugar(batch #4)! In fact, you could not distinguish a difference in taste between the two!!!EXCELLENT KETTLE CORN!!!!!THIS WAS THE EASIEST/FASTEST POPPER to use. Clean up was 2 seconds, and the POPCORN was FANTASTIC!!!DEFINITELY 10 STARS!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! IF YOU LOVE POPCORN, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!I forgot to mention: the popper collapses down in size for easy storage - added bonus!!UPDATE to review:7/30/2015 I was so IMPRESSED with this popcorn popper that I ordered 2 more! I sent one to each of my children & they loved it!!!

Funktioniert super!
