Works great!
I bought this to cut a burst copper pipe in our loft, at first I thought I was using it wrong as the pipe was buckling instead of cutting, but it turns out the pipe was so old it had degraded and was so weak it was folding under the pressure of the cutter. So if that happens to you, you'll know what the issue is. You will just have to cut more pipe out until you reach stronger pipe.On an offcut of new pipe this cut fine! For just £5.51 (currently 17% off) it's great value and easy to use, about 5-6 turns and the pipe was cut.For a little additional information about my burst pipe, there was approx. 12mm long split caused by frozen water, the plumber we eventually had come in to fix it had to cut out over 3m of 'rotten' pipe in total to get to solid pipe.

Handy little tool.
So far so good. 5 perfect cuts done very easily, including 1 tricky one behind a basin pedestal. No further preparation for pipe needed, straight into isolating valve, nip up, job done. Each cut takes 4 or 5 full rotations and was very easy. Excellent little tool for just over a fiver. Highly recommended for a bit of DIY plumbing. I've no doubt that this wouldn't stand up to the rigours of day in day out professional plumbing, but then if you spent £5 on this as a pro plumber and expected it to last then I wouldn't want you working in my house. It is however the best and easiest to use of the 3 cutters I have. It's one of those things that, as long as you don't get a faulty one, as some on here say they have, can completely change how hard or easy a job can be. If you're thinking about one to make a few odd jobs easier, go for it.

Cheap, but only good for a few cuts, couldn't use spare blade
Worked well, especially as space was tight. Couple of turns and pipe was cut neatly and cleanly. Comes with a spare blade, which is handy, and is good value for money.Update: in hindsight, more cheap than value for money: the spare blade seems a good idea in theory, but in practise, I wasn't actually able to use it, seems more like a gimmick. The screws holding the cutter together are so tightly screwed in, and cheap (Phillips head, sunken) that I couldn't get them undone. It's probably possible to open this to insert the replacement blade, but it's hardly worth the effort it would take. The screws were "cammed" after a few tries with a well fitting screw driver - cheap screws or I'm just useless at undoing screws.. the blade did not last long, either. I didn't expect it to make 100's of cuts, but after about 5 cuts the blade was so blunt that repeated turns just left ridges on copper pipe. If you only want to use it once or twice, it will do a good job. Probably won't get better for this price.. but for regular use, would invest a bit more.

Copper pipe cutter
Had an issue when first using it to cut copper pipe. Wasn’t cutting well. Pipe had forced the blade up. Took apart and reset the blade. Worked perfectly then. Have cut copper pipe 10 times with it now so all good so far

Read the 1 star reviews - doesn't work
I think there must be a bad batch, as most of the reviews from Autumn 2024 to early March 2025 are saying the same. The wheel does not retract as it should so you can't get it onto the pipe.I wondered if I was having an off day, decided to check the reviews again, filtered to 1 star reviews and found it wasn't just me. That was annoying but also a relief that I wasn't unwittingly stuck by extreme feebleness.I ended up having to hacksaw the pipes out, and then I propped the cutter upwards on the floor and used a hammer to bash the pipe into the cutter. Once in, it did cut well and neatly so I could securely attach the neatly cut shortened pipes. But this isn't how it is supposed to be used!

As described
Once I got the hang of this great … cut my curtain poles down to size and my fixed shower pole … which meant I could keep my actual metal poles rather than the flimsy ones on the market today … recommend! Also comes with another blade !

Lasted for one pipe - However after a bit of investigation, much better!
First pipe cut fine, once I worked out you have to really force it onto the pipe before turning. However the second pipe, made of exactly the same material is now a complete and utter mess. this device has corkscrewed all over the place and refuses to cut square anymore. I thought maybe the blade was used up, so swapped it for the spare, same problem (the first blade is actually rusty!)***********update***************After reading some of the other reviews I decided to give it another go, after investigating it more closely, and that's when I found the root cause of my grief... Some extra metal was left on the inside of the tool, as per the photos attached. So I got some pliers and pulled it out, and then cleaned up the curve as best I could, WOW, what a bloody difference! It cut through the pipe first time, nice and neatly. And in just a few turns, whereas the first pipe had taken well over 30, this time it took maybe 6.So if you're having grief, especially with it corkscrewing, double check that there is no excess metal inside the curve, if there is get rid of it.
