Q: I'd be takign this out on a stand up paddle board on the ocean. Are these waterproof?

You don't want to submerge them. They will stand up to fresh water splashes but not full out dunks. I'm comfortable taking them in a kayak but not on my board.

Q: what are the dimensions while folded?

They’re 2” x 4” x 4.5” when folded. They’re not something that you can tuck into a pocket. But, your vision with them is terrific!

Q: Do these work well with children?

Good size for kids and anything smaller than 32 seems to make it difficult for them to find the object. Bigger sizes make the binoculars themselves heavy. I like these and would recommend you give kids lots of instructions and practice.

Q: Does it come with a case

Yes.... Nice case. The strap is not too nice. There's a very nice one for sale on Amazon for 7 or 8 bucks.
