Want to FAX with the Magic Jack 2014? - DON'T USE A COMPUTER!
Faxing with the Magic Jack Plus 2014 is easy and it works well if the set up is done correctly. But that's the easy part. DON'T PLUG IT INTO A COMPUTER. I stayed up super late the first night trying to figure this out because I had read that you could fax using the Magic Jack Plus 2014. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right and made the mistake of connecting it to my computer to try and fax. I could make calls but the call quality was horrible. I was thinking that by connecting it to my computer I could see any needed information of change setting easily to allow faxes. THAT WAS A MISTAKE. Sure you want to connect it to your computer to register it and change your phone number to a local one but that's all you'll really do. After you've done that just unplug it and connect the provided Ethernet cord directly to your modem or router. Take the USB cord that comes with the unit and plug it into the provided power adapter plug. That just plugs into the wall to give the Magic Jack Plus 2014 power. The Ethernet cord plugged into the router gives it the network connection to give you a dial tone. Then simply connect the phone line from the Magic Jack Plus 2014 to your fax machine. You don't need a computer! The call quality is good and my faxes get sent through just fine. I bought the Brother FAX-575 for less than $40 even though it says that it doesn't support VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol - it's what the technology that the Magic Jack Plus 2014 us based on). However, by bypassing a computer and plugging it in directly, as I've explained, I'm having no problems faxing. Best of luck!

Fantastic product!
I purchased the MagicJack Plus and in a matter of a minutes I had everything running and my number was transferred in about a week! I'm very pleased with the sound quality and what it does for very little money; I can even use my regular answering machine to answer the calls and I was under the impression that I had to go to my computer to play back my messages. Works just like a regular phone line but without the high price!

It is nice to have a hard U.S. Landline Number
I works great and does not drop calls like Skype. I got a cheap standard phone with an wireless extension. It is nice to have a hard U.S. Landline Number. Thank you Terry

Good Back Up and Land Line Replacement
I've had MJ since 2009. The Pros are that it's cheap. Can't beat $20 per year. Cons are it doesn't pick up immediately. I have to say Hello? Hello? several times until the caller hears me. I also didn't realize there's a newer version and mistakenly bought this older version. I only bought this thinking my similar model had broken. The problem was actually the power plug had gone bad, and I didn't know MJ sends a replacement for free. Also, the tech person had to reset settings on the server to get it to work again. I only use this as a back up since my cell phone is the primary. It's good for those pesky sales call since I do not give out my cell phone.

I don't know what the problem is since I didn't have any problems like that with Charter's VoIP
I installed on 100Mbps Ethernet connected to Charter 30Mbps/5Mbps Internet Service to try to replace the VoIP that Charter provides & save some bucks. It provided a basic phone connection OK but when I dialed into their voicemail or to other automated response systems the systems couldn't seem to receive my Touchtone responses and I had to give up on using those systems. There were also frequent dropped calls. I don't know what the problem is since I didn't have any problems like that with Charter's VoIP. I liked having my voicemails sent to my e-mail but the other problems were severe enough that I had to return the product for a refund. I sure wish it worked better but I guess you can only get what you pay for in this world.

Great value, but...
We love the Econ,it's of the service, but these things seem to break down too often. My that said, even replacing once a year you still save a ton of $$ year over year. $50 vs $600 for basic hardline service.

Five out of five stars. Great product. Great for the office or home. Easy to setup. Fast delivery and great packaging.
I got this for my dad's new office so he could have a dedicated land line and it works great. Super easy setup no problems at all. Delivery was fast and packaging and product were in superb condition. Would recommend to anyone that needs a land line but doesn't want to pay a fortune for one through their ISP or local phone company.

Exactly as advertised.
This works perfectly for us. We had landline service through AT&T for awhile and it's just absurdly expensive when we both also have cell phones. We like having the landline because the phone is more comfortable and for 911. We got rid of landline service for several months and looked at Vonage, but that's still $15-$20/month for what I was looking at. I had heard of MagicJack and Ooma so I investigated and MagicJack does the job for us. We want a phone that we'll use sparingly for long calls with family across the country. It's only ~$3/month and the sound is just fine. I plugged it right into our router and set it up on the computer, it took a few minutes at most. Very pleased so far. Thanks, MagicJack!
