Needs constant mixing during use.p
Paint separates quickly and you need to mix it constantly when painting. On arrival, paint needed a great deal of mixing as the silver was in a blob of sludge at the bottom. After stirring for a while it did eventually mix, but needed constant mixing when painting.Doesnāt go very far, needed to buy three jars to finish job.Finish was good though and covered well on fabric.

Chrome paint for models
Needed Chrome paint for some parts on my model London Transport RM bus. Havenāt used it yet, but opening it saw it needed a lot of mixing. Since my initial review Iāve now used the Chrome paint & itās really good.

My first purchase of tamiya paint and it was of excellent quality BUT the cost, oh my, buy from other outlets for less than half the price, never again Amazon 5 stars for quality 0 for cost

Tamiya X-11 acrylic
I am using Tamiya, Revell and Humbrol paints, both acrylic and enamel. I honestly could not recommend one brand over the other as I find they all have superb paints and less than adequate dependant on colour. Also, as I sometimes buy new paints from Ebay then I have no idea of knowing how old they may be and I imagine this would be a factor in quality (paints have a 'shelf life'). I find Tamiya can also vary, for one example I have a Gloss Red enamel X-7 and the coverage is fantastic, same could be said for say Humbrol Gloss Black enamel 33, or Revell Gloss Blue acrylic 52. On the other hand I have Revell Steel and Aluminium enamels and they are awful glue like substances which are useless (if anyone has an answer why this maybe then please pass comment so I can read) despite having used Revell's own thinners. Same for Humbrol with Brass enamel. In regards to this particular paint, Tamiya X-11 then I would have to say if one is looking for a 'chrome' like look one say model motorcycle silencers then this is not life like, I would recommend Humbrol 11 enamel for the purpose. Also, Tamiya paints may not be to everyones liking as I find they can be 'bitty' in appearance which the experts would no far better than me and maybe is to do with pigmentation. If I had to recommend a paint brand based on my non-scientific experience then I would be hard pushed but if I was pushed then I would go for Humbrol.Cheers, DPF
