Fever Ray [VINYL]

It's eight years now since this album's release. It was lauded then by the critics - and right they were.This is one of those rare albums you return to repeatedly over the course of your life - and with each visit the quality becomes even more apparent. In my opinion it's a modern classic - and i don't use that tag lightly.It's perhaps unfortunate that electronica (or intelligent dance) doesn't get much radio air play, and with the tone of this album being perhaps a little low key I feel it's slipped under the radar of many. This is a huge, huge shame. It should be in every music fan's collection.My highlights are the tracks Seven, Keep the Streets Empty, and I'm Not Done - but it's all wonderful really. Beautiful, ethereal, stark.

i love this strange singer for her uniqe sound and lyrics the whole album just blows me away.first heard her music on the red riding hood sound track and instanly loved Keep the streets empty and the brillant Wolf, that just makes me think of cults and tribes singing and danceing around a fire in celeabration like in the movie. after that encounter i was instanly hooked and havent stoped listening to her since.admitable her sound and music isnt to everyones taste but i recommend everyone to try it before you judge.best lyrics ever are definitly from When i grow up"when i grow up i want to be a forester, run through the moss on high heels"check out the vidio for this soung also it is strangly hunting watching the girl churing up the water with her dancing.

Fever Ray is a WOMAN???? well I didn't know. I had never heard of them until I heard the hauntingly beautiful If I Had a Heart, from the marvellous Vikings. (if you haven't seen it, treat yourself, I don't think that you will be disappointed) It is my favourite track at the moment, but others are good too, I may just have to listen to them more so they become as familiar to me as that one which is gorgeous

Fever Ray have came with a incredible sound, some between electronic and ethnic, with several multi-percussion sounds in an excellent arrangement (where it sounds are particular) but it doesn't sound complex, the songs take you to a unknown and fantastic world and create a introspective atmosphere. Fever Ray (Karin) have great vocal performances that is memorable, sometimes with her pure voice, others with your vocoder voice. But it's great to see here those amazing videos, they are equally strange and fantastics... I really have wanted that and it's a great surprise this Special edition with DVD and 2 bonus tracks! Really great and I encourage those who wants a true travel through of mystic and fantastic world of Fever Ray.

Fever Ray is a relatively new band discovery for me and this album has definitely secured the band's place in my heart. If you love music of the calm yet slightly psychedelic variety (a la Bjork etc) this is the album for you

Bought this because of the title track to 'Vikings' - can't stop playing it! Some artists have the ability to create music with numerous layers that slowly reveal themselves the more you listen to them. Fever Ray is such an artist. The music awakens so many different emotions and transports me beyond the hum drum by feeding my imagination. Some favourite tracks and no bad ones. Brilliant.

Like many I bought this for the 'If I had a heart' track but love most of the other tracks, especially 'Keep the Streets Empty for Me'.

Wer denkt, die können nur den Titelsong einer Serie, irrt gewaltig. Die Platte ist für Musikliebhaber ein Muss! "Düster, morbide und gespenstisch erscheint die Welt von Fever Ray", schreiben einige und so ist es auch. Sie zieht den Hörer in genau diese Welt und die ist äußerst spannend.

Ich möchte erst mal erwähnen, dass auch ich erst spät auf dieses Album aufmerksam wurde, nämlich durch die Tatsache, dass ich in Foren und Co. nach Musik aus dem Indie- Bereich gesucht habe, die ich noch nicht kannte und die mal etwas Neuartiges mitbringt, etwas, dass man nicht "alle Nase lang" zu hören bekommt. Und... ich wurde fündig. Fever Ray. Jeder einzelne Titel zog mich mehr und mehr in den Bann, sodass ich das Album die erste Zeit rauf und runter hörte. Es hat zwar etwas "Düsteres", speziell bei den Titeln, bei denen die Stimme von Karin Dreijer Andersson verzerrt daher kommt, doch gerade das ist es auch, was einen so fesselt. Das Genre würde ich für mich um einen Aspekt erweitern, nämlich: schamanisch, elektronischer Indie. Wenn ich das Album einlege, dann gehe ich auf eine Trance- Reise. Es ist das beeindruckenste Album, das mir je zu Ohren kam. Es hat es in meiner Albensammlung in Kürze auf Platz 1 geschafft. Im Einzelnen waren es Titel wie "When I Grow Up" und "Keep The Streets Empty For Me", die zu Anfang meine Favoriten darstellten, auch die Videos dazu sind sehr gelungen, die Faszination verteilte sich jedoch sehr bald nahezu gleichmäßig auf das gesamte Album. "More, give me more, give me more...." :-)

Ist sonst gar nicht so meine Musikrichtung... Kenne Fever Ray durch verschiedene Serien, wo die Songs im Hintergrund liefen. Sicherlich etwas düster, aber ich mag's! Höre es oft beim Autofahren und überhaupt seit anderthalb Jahren immer wieder gern.

Über "keep the streets empty for me" wurde ich auf Fever Ray aufmerksam, klar & druckvoll klangen die Songs bereits bei YT und so wurde die CD aus England zum günstigen Preis geordert. Der Sound erinnert ein wenig an Trentmoellers "Last Resort", etwas düster und geheimnisvoll... sehr cool. Ich hätte mir die CD noch etwas druckvoller und im Klangbild losgelöster von den LS gewünscht. Nicht dass es nicht gut klingt, aber etwas mehr Räumlichkeit und es wäre in meinen Ohren perfekt. Das Album bekommt daher gute 4,5*.

Bin durch Zufall über ein Video gestoßen wobei dieser titel als Sound genutzt wurde und hab mir gleich die LP bestellt ;)Ok, Musik ist immer Geschmackssache, aber ich finde diese Platte absolut klasse.

Für mich eindeutig das Album des Jahres - und unter den Top 10 des ausklingenden Jahrzehnts.Fever Ray schafft es mit minimalistischem Instrumenteneinsatz eine unglaublich dichte und eindrucksvolle Atmosphäre zu schaffen.Diese Atmosphäre wird unterstützt von tollen Melodielinien, die - obwohl eingänglich - nie kitschig wirken.Und über all dem die Sängerin die in unglaublicher Art mit Ihrer Stimme spielt.Ich will mehr davon!Wer die Stücke noch intensiver erfahren will, dem sei das Live Album:"Live In Lulea" empfohlen, das es nur als mp3 download zu kaufen gibt.

One of my favourite artists, I was so happy to find a vinyl of it on Amazon. Great sound quality, sturdy packaging, arrived in 100% condition. LP was boxed and then boxed again by Amazon. No corner damage at all.

Elektronische Musik der ersten Klasse. Sehr innovativ, abwechselnd und überraschend. Allerdings sicherlich für den einen oder anderen zu sperrig und ungewohnt, insbesondere die elektronisch veränderte Stimme der Sängerin. Wenn man die nicht mag (mal reinhören auf Videoportalen oder Musikstreamingdiensten), der sollte sein Geld hier nicht ausgeben.

The Vinyl is perfect. The sound quality is truly impressive. Though, I must say that I never received a brand new vinyl that dirty. As for the music, it's pretty damn good, as always with Fever Ray.

"When I grow up" is definitely the song of the album for me - but the whole album is must-have for anyone who likes to have something different in their collection. Her voice, and musical style, is awesome!

War schon immer ein Fan von außergewöhnlicher Musik, und bei Fever Rays Album stimmt einfach alles! Eine wundervoll eigensinnige elektronische Musik begleitet von der Sängerin Karin Dreijer Andersson, oder ist es andersrum? Egal, Stimme und Musik sind einzigartig und genial! Ebenso die Videos! Für Musikliebhaber im Stil von z.B. Björk.

Disco único con un sonido muy fuera de lo común, oscuro, atmosférico, mágico. De lo mejor. El producto venía muy bien protegido y sellado, excelente!

Ich habe mir die Special Edition gegönnt, da sie beinahe doppelt so viel bietet wie die normale Edition, dazu sogar kurioserweise noch günstiger ist als die normale.Alleine der Track "Stranger than Kindness" ist diese Edition wert. Was da für ein Meer an Bass angeschwappt kommt, ist der Wahnsinn. Dazu noch ein sehr gutes Video.Also auf jeden Fall die Special Edition kaufen! ^^
