WHITE KNIGHT TUMBLE DRYER START CAPACITOR 8 UF

I haven`t got a clue about tumble dryers but I knew enough to realise it had developed a fault as it had stopped spinning. Were it not for the internet I would have scrapped it & forked out a couple of hundred quid on a new one....which I would have transported myself from the store to my tenement flat, 2 flights up. Thanks to the videos on youtube I learned that all it needed was a new start capacitator, and it looked pretty easy to fit. Searching through various websites I found the part number and lowest price. It arrived in a few days and took a half hour to fit. Heck...if I can do it anyone can ! Worked a charm, been working couple weeks so far so good, will update in a year, even if lasts a year will be worth it, as original only lasted 2! And for a few quid compared with 20 odd for genuine part its a no brainer! Btw, why are we all accepting such low standerds these days! White goods used to last, my nan had her white goods for 20-30 years! Now we r lucky to get it just past the second week after the guarantee runs out! About time we rise up against these shoddy manufactures and do what the yanks do, all come together with a petition or boycott them! Ill be glad to pay a few more quid to have it made here so its better made and give our young jobs! I know i just bought this and not the original, so it sounds like im contradicting myself, but if the original is not upto standards either, why?! Arghhh! Fast delivery and bargain price.To change you will need medium Phillips screwdriver stubby 13mm spanner and pliers.Watched Youtube Videos on how to change.Unplugged device and discharged old capacitor before removal with electrical screwdriver.Caution don't damage gas pipe.Capacitor located below small cover on lower left of machine looking from rear.Most difficult part is removing the 13mm nut.After that transfer each connector is sequence to new capacitor one at a time(consider photograph first).Refit in reverse.Bingo it works. Easy replacement for a defunct 8uf capacitor for tumble dryer, swapped out an old metal body capacitor from a 2016 tumble dryer for this plastic body unit, took about 20 minutes easy job and now the tumble starts without manual spinning the drum. Update July 2024 stopped working after seven months bought another brand capacitor 😞

The cheapest available. Mounting and connectors the same as the one being replaced. Dryer now functioning.

The drum on my C38AW dryer had stopped turning yet the timer was still working and there was heat still coming out so a quick online search showed that the "starting capacitor" was most likely the cause of the problem so I ordered this part and to cut a long story short I now have a fully working dryer again, This part has saved me £100 or more on the cost of a new machine so of course I am very happy, fitting the new capacitor was just the case of unscrewing one nut with a 13mm spanner and swapping over four wires.

Tumble drier had been failing to turn over with anything but a small load, unless turned over by hand immediately before starting. Internet research suggested this generic replacement part could save the drier from scrap heap and it's worked a treat since fitting it.

Bought this to fix my Candy Tumble dryer. Simple to fit if a bit fiddly but that was down to the design of my machine not the part.Works better now than it did when new and at under a fiver and an hours time to fix it myself one hell of a lot cheaper than a new machine.
