Brilliant is probably the best word to describe it
Brilliant is probably the best word to describe it. It's a tough little fella and does indeed go down stairs without breaking unlike the other BB8's you can buy, the range on the controller is quite long too so you can operate it from a long way away. The sounds are clear and loud and the drive works well on carpets. It's very simple to set up, the battery in the controller is a 9v square battery and not 2xAA's as some descriptions have. The kids love it (and so do I ... hours of fun)Tips for setting up.Remember to inflate the thing after you have attached the drive unit and not to try it after , oh and one last thing, don't try and pair the unit to the controller when you are next to a wireless mouse or keyboard etc. I found that I was clicking the controller and my wireless keyboard happened to have the same channel so it was turning my computer monitor on instead of pairing, but that's not the fault of the excellent BB8.

Didn't work - very sad and disappointed little boy
Rubbish - bought for my five year olds birthday party. Didn't work, huge disappointment, tears and upset. Now can't return as the 'return window' closed four days ago - boo, will never buy early for a party again. Not sure how this works with consumer rights and can only hope Amazon will do the right thing.

As cute as the real thing!
I love, love, love this! He is really easy to put together and just as cute as the real bb8 when in motion. I'm 30 and me and my parents and brother have all enjoyed playing with him!

Fantastic toy!
My 5 year old son saw a video of this toy on You Tube. He absolutely loves it. Durable, easy to use controls. And the toy itself isn't too large to blow up yourself. You do not need a pump. Makes BB8 sounds but it's not too loud and you can turn the sound off as well. Highly recommend!
