Nice selection of stories
This is a nice book, full of anecdotes and interesting facts. However, I think I would use Dave Broom's Gin: The Manual to prepare for a Gin Festival (or a gig by the Thinking Drinkers) since it focuses more consistently on the contents of the bottle, the ABV and best use across a representative range of cocktails. That said, this book is a leisurely read and has added to my store of knowledge, especially with respect to the use of corks and the names of various stills.

Good pocket guide to some great gins
Good little book for any gin lover. Only a fraction of the gins on the market today, but a good selection and description of some of the better ones around!

Buy the book, try the gin's, you will not be dissapointed.
For gin lovers, or even the curious looking for an introduction to gin, this is a great little book. The gins are listed alphabetically, with pictures of the bottles, so great for identification when out shopping or in a bar. The notes are well written and the descriptions (so far) have proved accurate.Like Ian Buxton's companion book, "101 Whisky's to Try Before You Die", as well as what might be considered the obvious choices, he throws in some surprises which, with our experiences so far, are well worth investigating.

Husband now has the full set!
The book arrived as it should in terms of time and condition. My husband has the rum and whisky one already, so this completes the set for the moment.

Informative and well written
Just finished reading this book from cover to cover. It highlights the vast array of gins available and also the innovation the industry is going through, something the whisky industry should note.Very informative and well written.I will be ordering another as a gift.

An excellent companion
As a committed gin enthusiast I am delighted I followed my instincts to order this splendid book. Although familiar with many of the gins listed, I very much enjoyed Mr Buxton's witty and interesting write-ups for each one and I learnt something new on every page. The real reason I bought the book was to find out about other, new gins which I could add to my repertoire. As a result I now have a long shopping list but what glorious discoveries lie ahead...
