A Level Biology for OCR A Student Book (OCR A Level Sciences)

This textbook was highly recommended by my school and is quite useful when it comes to revising and understanding a topic. In addition to this, it also comes with topic questions, end of topic summary exam questions as well as exam papers. This is honestly, an amazing purchase as it contains both Year 1 and 2 biology content in 1 singular book.

As a teacher using the new OCR AS Biology spec, I absolutely love this book. I have read a couple of the suggested reading books but found that detail can be vague, and in some parts confusing. This book explains the syllabus very well, taking more difficult topics, and explaining them in ways that a student can easily grasp. There are lots of diagrams to assist in learning, and it covers AS as well as A2. I have shown this book to a few of my students who are also planning to get it. Thoroughly recommend if you are studying or teaching this subject.

Good as it has all the content, however it is SO heavy it is such a struggle to get around with it in your bag. If I knew how heavy it would be I would have just gotten the year 1 and year 2 books separately. Don’t get it if you do a lot of walking and have multiple lessons a day.

This is the textbook for the OCR A Level Biology A syllabus. I was given the electronic version by the school, however I wanted to have a physical copy. Although this book is slightly expensive, it is worth all the money as it helps with my learning in school. All I would ask for is it has more questions to practise from as there only a small amount.

I went from an E student to a B using this text book. The diagrams are really good and make it easier to memorise and understand
