As with other Starrett products, a well engineered punch. The "automatic" bit works just fine, leaving a significant mark in wood or steel. It is smaller than I expected (my prejudice?) but works perfectly well. Wholly recommended. I believe the tip is replaceable too - should it be needed

Love these, got all 3 of them, awesome tool, the 18c is by far the best, size of them inc this AA is spot on, very durable, and sharp, and can be resharpened

Does exactly what is expected - automatic punch with an screw adjustment for the stroke / impact. Starrett is a trusted brand, and this tool is well made and should last a long time.

Works well. Just push down and you get a nice centre punch. Why haven't I had one of these before?!

Starret have always been associated in the engineering world as manufacturing great quality tools and equipment................... BUT WHAT WENT WRONG HERE......... ?? The punch is made really well, really nice quality as expected BUT the actual task of performing what its designed for is a joke............. I used it on a piece of timber and it hardly marked it ? it would definately not even scratch metal......... oh dear Starret, you let me down... I have 3 other auto punches all set to use for different tasks and they all function as intended. This is like a wet blanket when it comes to performance...

Small and compact, still made in Germany, decent punch, good value when you consider the quality!

I've struggled with cheaper centre punches and their hit and miss action, even when they were brand new. This centre punch was certainly not cheap but it does work perfectly and I've yet to experience it misfire. It is nicely made and a conveniently small size. There is sometimes a good reason why some things are more expensive...

Für kleinere und weichere Materialien hervorragend geeignet. Bei dickerem Blech allerdings Probleme, aber dafür ist der kleine ja auch nicht gedacht.

Il prodotto è buono, consiglio l’utilizzo sull’alluminio rispetto all’acciaio dato che riesce a fare buchi più profondi rispetto al secondo, però comunque è tranquillamente utilizzabile con l’acciaio

Aunque de primeras puede echar para atrás el precio, lo cierto es que vale cada céntimo que cuesta. Impresionante precisión y aunque es el más pequeño de la serie tiene suficiente fuerza para marcar el hierro. Para lo que lo necesitaba, marcas en hierro y madera, me parece ideal y el tamaño más que manejable. Todo un acierto.

Funciona bien para materiales suaves como madera y plastico. Se puede usar para metales pero para que el punto sea lo suficientemente grande es necesario dar varios golpes. Para mas potencia es mejor el modelo 18a o 18c. Se acciona con mucha facilidad y parece duradero.
