Good quality but need to secure to the floor

Slight smell that vanished in a few hours. Tightly rolled in the packaging but I weighted the ends down when I unrolled it and it stayed flat after a couple of hours. It would work well as a hall runner, and do the job of protecting the carpet from dirt.But what I actually used mine for was to stop my cats scratching at the carpet. Cats hate closed doors! It works beautifully. I cut it in half then cut each peice to fit a doorway, under the door and around the frame at both sides. The doors shut easily over it, it lies flat so is not a trip hazard, it is clear so doesn't spoil the look of the carpet, and so far it has stopped the cats scratching. I'm very pleased with it.

A bit thinner than I expected. Bought to cover part of a rug in the Conservatory to avoid dirt from the dog’s paws. Perfectly adequate for this.

It fitted perfectly on my landing for the new carpet and is really thick. It cleans easily. Only downside is it slips about so constantly putting it back in place. Could cause trips as it is not completely flat. I will leave it down for now but it could of had firmer spikes on the underside to ensure it stays in place. The ones you could get in the 70's stayed in place had sharp spikes on the underside. So not sure if it's like everything else now that has deminished In quality over the last 40 years or if it's just this make. I suggest the loss of quality over time. Maybe H&S wasnt as good in the 70. I remember as a kid if it was on upside down it killed your bare feet ha ha ha maybe that's why. Anyway it will do just have to persevere with it.

This is NOT heavy duty. I had a heavy duty one years ago, thick and rubbery - as you can see, this one slides so easily, on a carpet, it's a health hazard unless fastened down (gave up trying to upload 9 second vid which shows how slidey the product is)

I was looking for something to protect my hall carpet from my dog footprints. This has done the job and survived so far.

We have a pale runner in the conservatory which my wife worried about getting dirty as we are in and out into the garden. This cover sits on top and helps keep it clean. Great value for money. Needs to be anchored to stop it travelling.

Yes it's cheap but there's a good reason for that; it's complete rubbish. The main issue is that is does not grip the carpet at all so it slides about and therefore is quite dangerous to walk on. It's also so thin that it won't lie flat no matter how many times you encourage it to do so and it deforms if you put anything on it. Probably one of the most useful items I've bought in a long time.
