Braun MultiQuick 5 Hand blender MQ 5200, with plastic beaker

I always use Braun blenders since they last a long time and blend food very well. Its a shame Braun don't sell much of a range in the UK and you have to order the higher spec models from Germany and get delivery with a 2 pin Euro plug with a UK converter. We have been using this product for a few months now and it works flawlessly.

Really powerful and compact hand blender. The design of the bell is one of its key points, really clever and anti-splash.The only downside is the design of the detachable system as it is not one of the sturdiest in the world, but still very good for the price.It only comes with the mixing glass, no other accessories.

Bought this to make soups and it works brilliantly. Easy to clean, too. I like how one can detach the lower part for safe washing. My only regret is that I didn't buy one with a mashed potato attachment, as that would've been really useful. I've tried with this one but it doesn't come out well. Otherwise, I love it.

I purchased this Braun MQ500 hand blender in June 2015 to replace an earlier model that got mislaid in a move, but after a couple of months of pureeing soft fruits or vegetable soups it stopped working, so I'm not a happy bunny. I don't even know if it comes with a warranty.............does anyone elso know?Mo

They market it as being "anti-splash". However, it has two whisking modes - both of which operate at very fast speeds. I don't understand why they didn't design one of these modes for slow whisking. Flour and liquid can spread over the bowl due to the speed of the blades, so choose your mixing bowl carefully. Apart from that, it feels solid in the hand and blends well.

This broke after 5 months. I smelt a burning smell and then pop. I liked it while it lasted, I'm going to buy the model below this one and expect it not to last. After that dies, I will invest in a more expensive brand. I need a hand blender to make my fruit and veg smoothies daily.

Ticks all the boxes for me:- Sturdy, reliable and small.- Doesn't take away much space in the drawer and easy to clean.- Doesn't splash and is comparatively quiet.- Turns frozen fruit and veg, nuts, dried fruit, spices (cumin, pepper), seeds (punmpkin and sunflower seeds), and even pips of raspberries and small bits quickly into smooth purees. Tomatoe skin seems to be a bit of a problem, tho, and hemps seed skins end up in tiny bits.BUT: be careful and don't overdue it! The more water you add, the easier it blends. Best soak nuts and dried fruit beforehand and avoid doing everything in one go. Give it a break now and then, if you use it without or with very little water: Even this Blender can heat up after overextensive use!

I use this constantly especially for soups where the stainless steel working end is ideal for resisting staining by for instance tomato ingredients
