'I Hate Revision' offers not only top tips on revision strategies
As a parent whose son has just been revising for his mocks GCSEs, we have found this book really helpful. My son is very keen to do well but really had no idea how to organise himself, plan his time and actually revise effectively. 'I Hate Revision' offers not only top tips on revision strategies, exam technique and revision resources but also provides supporting evidence about why some methods of revision work better than others. It's so easy to think that those that achieve well in exams are naturally gifted and able, but what this book proves is that you can increase your chances of success enormously if you are prepared to put in the effort and revise effectively. Robert’s book shows you how to do just that and I can’t recommend it strongly enough. It is written in a student friendly way too– a very accessible read.

Great Book
As a parent of 2 kids coming up to their GCSEs and both of whom 'Hate Revision' I didn't know whow to approach this subject to help support them through the process - I particularly enjoyed the psychology studies quoted (and well explained in everyday language) to under pin the advice that was being given. When they finish their end of term exams I'll get them both to read this - hopefully in prep for next year so they are better prepared. Would definitely recommend this book.

Bought this for my 14 year old daughter to try and give her different ideas for revising (haven't read it myself yet) but a revision timetable has appeared on her wall. So here's hoping that she uses some of the tips from itI made some comment about the fact that as a parent I am not nagging her but just want to help! she said that is exactly what it said in the book.As I said I hadn't read the book!!!

Hard work to read
I bought this paperback edition for my daughter as she is in her first year of A-Level study. I had high hopes for the book but was really disappointed with the dull formatting of the text; the book is far from easy on the eye as it's block after block of black and white text with sparse differentiation and no illustrations. I believe that this is a key fault as it detracts from the content of the book which, whilst sound, is indigestible because of the dull page layout. I could see a truly devoted student wading through the book however, I feel it unlikely that such a student would require a book of this genre. I think that the majority of students would do better with a book that was punchy and 'interesting' to look at. Alas this is a purchase that I regret although I appreciate the author's sentiment and rigorous approach to include scientific research to support the advice he gives.
