Great book, all Julia Donaldson books are great reads, my god daughter and niece love them all

Bought this for my daughter's classroom at school as it is her favourite book and they didn't have a copy. Really great story and beautifully written

Another amazing book in this series. Grandchildren love them. Illustrations were fantastic too.

there really good for children

I love all of Julia Donaldson's books. The rhyme and meter are wonderful, and the artwork is delightful. The kids love every one of the books.Strangely, though, this one I'll only give four stars to. I can't put my finger on why, but when you compare it to The Gruffalo, Stick Man or Zog, it just doesn't quite measure up to them.It's still a nice book, and the kids enjoy the ryhming and stuff, but the concept of a highwayman is a bit beyond a 3 year-old. Dragons, check, monsters, check, sticks, check, 17th-century criminal archetypes... not so much :)I still enjoyed it, and I think the kids did too. It's a nice bedtime book, and may possibly stretch the kids minds with some concepts of property and ownership.

My little brother adores this book. It’s a firm favourite at bedtime! The language is simplistic but challenging enough to encourage literacy skills and as always it’s beautifully illustrated.The rhyming is lovely and my little brother loves to take turns reading it out, especially the “stand and deliver!” lines! It’s a great book for younger children as the storyline and enjoyable quotes (you will definitely learn to recite them by heart!) really do encourage a love of reading.
