can the head swivel side to side or isit up and down only?

The head is on a ball type swivel so can be moved to your required position.

I am connecting to a 3 core plus earth wire which is brown, Black and grey plus earth...how does that match with the red, brown and blue in the unit?

You can use 3 core and earth to connect an orride switch but this unit only seems to have a permanent line but no S/L connection

What the heck is a lux setting? why isn't this preset or automatic? the more silly settings, the more difficult it is to setup

Hi, This is the User-definable setting which tells the PIR device at what degree of darkness the PIR will begin activating it's attached lamp. If this setting is too low, the lamp will be activated even in daylight. (You may want this - especially if you are using the device as a permanent proximity alarm). If this setting is too high, the lamp will switch on probably only in total darkness. Usually, a mid-range setting is found which activates the lamp just as daylight is failing. The only way to get the correct setting is through trial and error and is done best prior to permanent installation. Place the PIR in the desired location and wait until the desired degree of darkness is achieved, (or take the PIR into a darkened room) then adjust the LUX controller until the device activates. Hope this helps.

Does this support 2 way switching

My sensor is always live from a one-way switch. So I've no experience of using it on 2-way switching. However, all the device needs is a power supply so, when either of the 2 switches is on then it should work.
