The Beetle Game - Retro Board Game

It bought a smile to my face when I saw this game on Amazon. As a child I spent many hours playing this game with my brother and sisters. As other reviewers have mentioned the construction and fits are only average at best but with a craft knife and fine sandpaper it is easy enough to rectify. If you have kids, grandkids or young relatives that visit it is well worth adding this little game to your collection especially for wet days or in winter, it’s so much more fun than looking at screens. The price was around £10 at the time of purchase and well worth the money for entertainment value.

5 star for all round fun grandchildren love it even into their teens. Traditional game made out of metal which I prefer but still a very good family fun game.

Brings back memories of beetle drives as a kid. Simple game but fun.

Great game, my grandson enjoyed it, however the plastic pieces don't fit very well with a few being too loose and others to tight.

Great fun for all the family. I remember playing this as a young child so we bought it for my daughter and it’s just like how it used to be.

This is a great little game to do with the kids, my autistic 9 year old loved it and would sometimes just sit and build the beetles without actually playing the game. Unfortunately some of the parts are a little breakable, especially in his hands, so some of the parts got broken. This is not a reflection on the game and its pieces but more of if you have a rough handed child, you may find it broken quickly.

Ich kenne das Spiel aus den 50er Jahren. Es kam als Mitbringsel von einer englischen Nachbarin zu mir und meinen Geschwistern und wir haben es bis zum Abwinken gespielt, obwohl keiner die englischen Regeln verstand. Jetzt bekommt es mein Bruder zum 70ten Geburtstag und kann es mit seinen Enkeln spielen. Hier muß man aber aufpassen, daß Kinder die einzelnen Teile nicht in den Mund nehmen und verschlucken oder in Nase oder Ohren stecken. Ein großer Retro-Spaß

Takes me back to my childhood! Perfect game for little people who are just learning to count.

Got this for cousin camp this summer. It was a huge hit with the kids ages 3-8. The 3 year old wasn't so interested in playing by the rules, but loved building the bugs! It does contain small pieces so supervision with younger kids is s must. Our bugs stayed together and the pieces fit together well for the most part. Would buy again.

While I haven't played the game yet, I did take the pieces out and put a "cootie" bug together. This game brings back fond memories of my childhood and playing with my Grandmother. I look forward to sharing this game with my daughter one day. The pieces fit well, store in the slots in the box (they knock loose just like the old game too), and were all intact. Thanks for bringing back a bit of nostalgia.
