Ikea BEKVAM Wooden Utility Step, Beige

Lovely stool which is proving very useful. Not only a step to reach things and a stool to provide extra seating but my granddaughter sits on the step using the top as a table to eat her lunch. Its very sturdy too, I'm no lightweight!! Was easy to make - I am a 66 female and managed to build it on my own. Love the free tool for Allen key - have kept it in my toolbox for future use! Will probably paint it to match other furniture. Highly recommend!!

Really sturdy, great item to have around the house if you're a short person. This is my second one of these. The other has lasted years and still going strong. It's not light, it is a good sturdy weight so won't wobble or shift when you're getting on and off. Mine hides under a cushion when it's not being used as steps. It's actually quite a nice little piece of furniture, especially with a coat of paint that blends in with the room.

easy to construct. sturdy. we use this for our 18 month old to climb up to wash her hands at the kitchen sink (as well as for us to reach high stuff)the unpainted wood stains easily. we will paint ours.

I bought this to use as a stand for my Fender Blues Junior guitar amp. It took 20 minutes or so to build, all the parts were there and fitted together well. One edge of the lower step, where a dowling pin is used to fasten and align it to the frame was two mm out but that was not an issue. The wood used is very pale and was rather dusty, so it needed a wipe down with a damp cloth. Once dry, I sprayed it with WoodSilk furniture polish which soaked into the untreated wood. After a quick rub down, the wood's grain came out nicely. The step is solid and rigid, I'm confident my amp sits safely and firmly on the top, while the bottom step makes a handy place to store unused effects pedals.

This was easy to assemble. I gave it a few coats of teak oil as it is bare wood and it now looks fantastic in my bedroom. Useful as a stool and to reach the top of my wardrobe.

I bought this for my daughter to help in the kitchen, I didn`t realise how big it would be when set up, too big. It doesn`t fold down which looking back I think would have been the better option. Good quality and very sturdy.

Finally got around to purchasing a set of steps. These are brilliant. You don't need to paint or vanish them, in fact it reckons not to. Lovely and easy to use and when not in use a great little seat for all sizes. Nephew and nieces love it. Am thinking of purchasing couple more, will paint them in bright colours and put in garden with plant pots on them. Is self assembly on arrival but even I could do it - so no problem and worth it.

looking for good safe steps to reach the top of the cupboardstwo to choose from the ikea one or this onethey look the same but this one tells you its made of beech and how high itsalso its £3 cheaper.to my surprise when it arrived it was the ikea onewhen you build it dont tighten and screws till you have them all threaded in placeand it has a nice plastic handle to fit over the hex allen key to save your handsnicely angled legs for a more stable use, much safer than plastic or metal tube built.
