It's Soya, it's not going to taste nice.
Seeing the reviews it's like a lot of people have never tried vegan protein before. This soya isolate is one of the better tasting vegan proteins. Being an isolate and so fine, it's texture is smoother than most. It's plant based protein, it doesn't taste nice and it's got a grainy texture. If you can't tolerate that then vegan protein powders may not be for you, unless you use it to bake with. I primarily use this as a cheaper way to bulk up my whey powder. 50/50 this and whey works well with some flavour drops. You can hardly taste the soya and the grainy texture is considerably more tolerable. It does need a damn good shake to mix fully, so I generally use a blender to speed it up.

Yummy!
Good stuff. Just plain unflavoured Soya Protein powder with no nasty sugar or cloying sweeteners in it. I don't like sickly sweet things, so I actually prefer the unadulterated taste of this. I mix it with water and find it eminently quaffable. It's almost like a soft ice cream or [for fans of the 1970s] Angel Delight type pudding, when mixed quite thick. BTW—the reason I picked this product in the first place was because Bulk label it SOYA. I'm so sick of even British companies adopting annoying American spellings and terms—like SOY—that I actively avoid buying those products. So thumbs up to Bulk for providing a product with an unashamedly "proper English" spelled label. As to whether this stuff is helping me achieve the Adonis-like figure I've always dreamed of; well, the jury's still out on that one. But, at least people have stopped pointing at me in the street and laughing now. So I like to think it's doing some good.

Cheap protein, good for lactose intolerant people
As someone who is lactose intolerant, I usually opt for whey isolate, but due to its high price, I decided to try unflavoured soy protein. While whey isolate tastes better, the soy protein isn't as "disgusting" as some claim—it's palatable, and I’ve had worse. The texture takes some getting used to, as it makes a thicker shake, but it's manageable. On the plus side, it's very easy on the stomach—possibly even better than whey isolate. Given the price difference, I’m happy with it, but if cost weren’t a factor, I’d stick with whey for the taste.

Tastes great, mixes well, love it
Really tasty shake, low calorie and high protein, i use as a meal replacement and mix with lactose free milk and keeps me full, have tried vanilla and caramel both are lovely and mix well in a shaker with no lumps, even if made up and kept in the fridge until you need it

Quite decent
Doesn’t taste as bad as people say, decent level of sweetness but it’s quite grainy, it’s not super insane like theres sand in your mouth but u can proper feel the tiny lil bits . Might feel it less if mixed into oats or used for a smoothie instead of just water. Does have a milkshakey vibe thoo but depends how mich water you put also mixes well and isn’t lumpy. Not the biggest fan of soyaa but bought this cause it was cheap and it doesn’t taste tooo soya esque tbh

They changed the recipe and now it's terrible
Bulk used to be the best protein supplement I'd ever tried. It was good value, tasted great, mixed well and had noticeable results. Now, after a month of it not being available at all, they are back with this new recipe that has taken away everything that was good about the old version. First, this is giving you less energy weight for weight. If I recall correctly the old one was 460 KCal per 3 scoop serving. This is 107 KCal per 1 scoop serving, or 321 if you were to have three scoops like with the old one. ... except, you can't just have 3 scoops in one go anymore, The new version needs as much water for one scoop as the old one did for 3 scoops. So for one scoop I need to drink almost a pint of water and feel bloated and for what? Barely over 100 calories. Skimp at all on the water and it turns into a thick sludge that clogs up a shaker bottle and leaves unmixed powder at the bottom. Either way it sits in my stomach like a brick and supresses my appetite, meaning I'd probably *lose* weight if I tried using this all the time. And then there's the taste. The old version was like drinking a vanilla milkshake. The new one is almost tasteless with just a vague sweetness to it. The final insult is that they're now charging more for it. I used to be able to get 2.5kg of the old stuff for around £22. This sack of rubbish was £35! Unless Bulk somehow come to their senses and switch back to the old recipe, please save your money and look elsewhere!

Great protein alternative to whey
Great product. I use as an alternative to whey protein which I have an intolerance to.

Strange kind of porridge
Tastes like soya (strangely enough!). Fine with a little maple syrup. More an acquired taste - you'll never be able to pretend it is yummy but you can pretend you are eating a strange kind of porridge. It isn't disgusting. Not very filling despite amount of protein. You will eat this for health reasons but since it doesn't fill you up I guess that is OK. I now have this on subscription.
