really useful for wet walks, much less clumsy than a map bag
I bought this paper for making a waterproof copies of my maps to use on a walk or bike ride.I use a relatively inexpensive hp inkjet printer.most importantly - it works! - the print qaulity is sharper then paper - it's totally waterproof even when handled. The A4 sheet is easily stuffed in and out of your pockets. On a recent very wet walk the map was still legible at the end of the walk despite being stuffed in and out of my pocket many times.Saves wear and tear to your paper maps, and saves the expense of buying waterproof maps.A handy bonus is that my printer has a zoom function when copying, so I can print a section of 1:50000 map at a larger scale, which is useful for walks.I still always take the complete map with me in a waterproof pocket in my backpack - just in case something goes wrong!

Very good but not perfect
Like several others, I am using this paper to print OS maps to take on walking trips. This paper is streets ahead of printing on "normal" paper. It is very tough and can be folded multiple times without losing any clarity on the fold lines. I also tried to tear it and that proved virtually impossible. However, I didn't have quite the stunning performance that some others have... the printed map is significantly less "smudgeable" than any other type of paper but it is not completely smudge-proof. If I wet the map and wipe across it the print will smear. However, without rubbing, water will run off the print and the map will dry as good as new.I am using the inkjet paper in a Lexmark inkjet printer with genuine Lexmark cartridges. The performance is still sufficiently superior for me to continue to use this paper over normal paper or laminating. (The laminated maps are 100% wipe clean but can be unwieldy on a walk as they can't be folded - plus they aren't as easy to write on).

Tough and waterproof
I use this paper to print maps for hill walks and it's excellent. It's a shame that no-one seems to produce this paper in A3 size

Excellent.
Power of attorney. Far better for printing important documents that you need to save.

Waterproof paper ideal for personal maps
I walk long distance paths, often over many consecutive days. As such, I am conscious about what I carry on my back in a rucksack and in my pockets. Ordinance Survey maps are bulky and difficult to fold and refold, especially when it's raining. Consequently, I use a different technique. I have Memory-Maps software on my laptop and I cut and paste segments of the walk into a PowerPoint A4-sized slide. Then I annotate the image with points of interest, pub locations for lunch, B&B locations and distance from the trail and, finally, inkjet print the page onto a Toughprint sheet of waterproof paper. The next map is created similarly and printed on the other side of the paper. These maps then become the maps I carry in the cargo pocket of my walking trousers, usually placed inside a plastic wallet. In this way, I solve the problem of trying to use a bulky OS map. The only problem I've found is that if the sheets do get wet, any red ink on one side of the paper leeches through to the other side of the paper. I've asked Memory-Map about this problem but, so far, have not received a reply.Apart from that, the method works very well for me and Memory-Maps' Toughprint waterproof paper is ideal for the job. It's a terrific product. Ben

Paper for geocaching
Bought this to print log sheets for geocaching. Printed well on ink tank printer. Cannot write on this paper using pencil. It just scratches. Sharpie writes well. Moral of the story, always take your own waterproof pen with you when caching!

Doesn’t work with pencil or colours
AWFUL so bought this paper for doing a mapping project, printed base maps onto it no problem colour fine, and no complaints about its waterproof/tear features, but despite claims you can’t write on it in pencil?! Just comes out as translucent and scratches the paper, absolutely gutted I didn’t find this out before the return window has closed! Wouldn’t recommend for writing on

Made in laser and ink jet versions so check you get the right one.
I bought the wrong one. Good product but quite expensive per sheet and too thick for my purpose. Now discovered DuraCopy Waterproof Paper
