"Hex2" The Real Cool Cooler.
Truly amazing, more than 2yrs on and still working perfectly, I could never have envisaged how successful this cooler was going to be. The software running this cooler switches the cooler in and out as necessary, this prevents overcooling. and I'm only on the standard setting.I clocked my 4yr old motherboard, and still this Cooler manages to dissipate the processor heat. This Hex2 is a true alternative to a quality Liquid cpu cooler system, without all the fuss and aggravation of liquid, circulation pump, pipes, large radiator and dual fans. The Phononic Hex2, uses a Thermoelectric cooler, with a single quality PWM 92mm fan, mounted in the centre of the tower, which is used to dissipate the heat from the not so large tower, this stands above the well designed Thermoelectric plate, at the back of the tower is the encased control circuit. I've since swapped out the original fan for a model that runs a little slower, and subsequently a little quieter. Here i must add Phononic would have sent a replacement, but i just wanted to experiment, doing this has not effected the cooling one iota. Im still on the standard Thermoelectric setting. It is however very important to remove the hot air from the cabinet, so I do have a decent 120mm fan extracting the air out the rear of my cabinet. What is interesting, is the softwares ability to control this Thermoelectric plate so accurately, that as CPU demand increases, you generate more heat, and so cooling is increased. It works brilliantly. There is Software available from Phononic to allow you to select the level of cooling plan you require. The kit comes with all your likely to need. If you have a specific need, or a question, just drop Phononic an email, they are extremely helpful There is a Ryzene Kit available.I found the installation straight forward. My only problem was i didn't have any spare USB headers, so i purchased a lead to bring an external USB inside the computer as a USB header (see attached photo). Now my CPU temperature is sitting between 33c and 40c on a standard setting. A Brilliant Product Phononic.

This cools down my i7-6700k pretty well. Getting avg. ambient temperature of 28°C and between 35-50°C depending on the load when gaming.-The mounting brackets are very sturdy, and was very easy to install. The modular design of the housing lets you swap out the fan if you ever need to change it.-Runs silent for the most part. When under heavy load the fan is probably the most noticeable noise, but still relatively quiet.-LED Light is ok. It adds some ambient light to the inside of your case, but isn't very strong.-The UI in the software is super simple and clean. I almost wish some of the settings and stats were a little more detailed. Lots of room for Phononic to iterate on since it's so minimal.Notes:It is best to orient this cooler vertically for optimal performance (the vertical alignment could be switched). Make sure the airflow arrow on the fan matches the direction inside of the Heatsink airflow symbol. I believe mine didn't match up when I first opened it.
