retro, great value and sound! Love it!
I am literally in love with this, it looks amazing on display and has many compliments on design, in fact many who have seen it are purchasing one also! The radio sound is literally CRYSTAL almost like DAB, and very easy to tune into different stations, the record player (once i grasped how to work it havent ever owned one before) is also great, some have said the sound isnt great, but i actually thought it was and i love lisening to lps of albums i had on ipod etc played this way, sounds far better in my opinon! I havent tried the mp3 player bit yet as still enjoying playing some lps i ve purchased but its a great idea and feature also. Overall i think this item is great value for money, looks fantastic and plays music great- just the job!

Incorrect speed!
I'm not one to normally leave reviews but this record player failed so spectacularly at it's job that I thought it best. Quite simply, when 33.3rpm was selected it played at 37pm (yes, i bothered to calculate it!). This might not seem like much, but made a clear difference to the pitch of the song. Not quite as 'Alvin & The Chipmunks' as 45 or 78rpm, but certainly not a true account of the songs. As far as I could see there was no way of adjusting this. I didn't try the other functions so couldn't comment, but through my speakers the sound was fairly decent, and through the inbuilt speakers it was fairly 'tinny', but that's to be expected. Needless to say I returned the player, with a view to buying one that concentrates slightly more on sound and performance than 'gimmicky' looks.

looks good
As previous people have posted, this is an attractive item, admired by many, although a little flimsy. I have managed to play both l.ps and singles but it clearly has problems recognising e.ps as it stops after the first song. I do find it annoying only being able to play one record at a time but this is not a fault of this player alone as I believe it is virtually impossible to buy stackable turntables.

Not Bad, but...
It's not bad by any means. I've had one for two years, and in those two years it has given me many hours of pleasure. It's aesthetics are beautiful - it's a great piece to have anywhere, and the styling of the whole unit is good. However, the build quality, as expected from the price, is not that good. It's adequate. The mechanism of starting and stopping the record is one of my peeves with it - it feels like your are going to break the plastic tonearm every time you start the turntable turning. The standard needle was also very cheap and wore out within months, necessitating replacement. And of course, you need a special needle to play 78s, but that is standard across all record players. The biggest problem, however, is the fact that the drive belt eventually stretches and wears out. You'll know it when it first happens, because the record will suddenly stop playing halfway through. Propping it up on one side tensions the belt to an extent and keeps it going for a bit longer, but eventually even that is not enough and not only does it stop playing, but when you try to play it the speed fluctuates. If you are looking for an occasional record player or a first time player, I couldn't recommend a better on than this. However, if you're looking for one that is going to be used more than occasionally, I suggest you stay away from this an save up to get something of a higher quality.

great gadget
My teenage daughter got this for her birthday and loves it. she's been using it in her room, listening to a collection of old records or the radio. the quality is good, reminiscent of the 'olden days' and it looks beautiful. it's great that it is possible to close the lid while the record is playing. definitely good value for money!

Great item
Ordered this for a Christmas present for my husband who still has a pile of vinyl which he has never parted with. It looks great, radio stations are very clear and easy to tune into. The record deck is also good, with great sound. Husband was very pleased with it and would highly recommend it to others wanting to play their vinyl records, for a bit of nostalgia. A great purchase all round.
