Far infrared Heater
I purchased this heater for my cabin/garden room which measures 2.4mx1.8m and is fully insulated with double glazed windows and door. The heater is exactly as described and looks just like a painting hanging on the wall. It seems to be made from some sort of tough vinyl with a wooden trim top and bottom and has a british 3 pin plug in transformer. When I switched it on the cabin was at 7.4c and I set the thermostat at 17c.( You will need a plug in thermostat and timer to get the best from this.) Anyway, it took just overt 2 hours to reach the set temperature of 17c so this would have cost 1kwh of electricity or 15p worth in my case. Over the next 3 hours it used 0.9kwh of electricity to maintain the target temp of 17c or about 5p an hour. It did provide a very even heat all over the cabin and I felt warm sitting 2m away from it. So, total for 5 hours heating was 1.9kwh. I had previously heated the cabin with a 1000watt/1kw fan heater total for 5 hours was 3.6kwh so this is a lot cheaper but slower to warm up. One other thing, after switching it off the cabin stayed at over 17c for about 90minutes so it appears that the longer this is on the cheaper it gets to run. Overall very happy with it.

and does keep it mildly warm throughout the day - although slow filling - it acts as a good heat 'buffer'
Generates heat OK - we got this for our daughter's bedroom - it's a relatively small room, and does keep it mildly warm throughout the day - although slow filling - it acts as a good heat 'buffer', adds additional warmth to the room but ideally needs to be paired up with a secondary unit of some kind. Potentially two of these will adequately heat a small room - cheaper to run, ideally you do not need a thermostat for this - we purchased one anyway, seems a little pointless considering this has to be blasted up to maximum in order to attain any heat. Potentially worth a buy if you're in the market for additional lower-cost heating modules

Seems poor quality
It's OK. The pictures online are deceptive, it's very plastic. Build quality looks quite poor, not confident it will last. Heat output not spectacular.

they might vary but my friend got one after seeing mine and he is really pleased with it too
Really suprised at the heat coming from it ! It's rated at 450w but i tested it and it is actually 525w. That's the one i have, they might vary but my friend got one after seeing mine and he is really pleased with it too !!

Great for apartment living!
Far Infrared heater works well to heat a chilly corner of our open plan living area, it is also pretty and a fun talking point. It also can be rolled up and put away when not needed. Great for apartment living!
