All Pond Solutions Filter/Pump/Fountain
This, `All Pond Solutions`, `All In One Pond System`, works in a number of ways to clear and sterilise the inorganic and organic matter naturally occurring in your Pond maintaining a balance in the eco system. The First system in this All In One AIO acting to purify the Pond is a cylindrical mat upon which naturally occurring Bacteria locate and thrive digesting organic matter. Water then passes on to the Second part of this system which is an Ultra Violet Light sterilising the excess Bacteria that make it this far. A Third part is a Filter before Water is then passed back into the pond. A Fourth part to the system is located at the front of the AIO through which a portion of the Pond Water passes before it enters the Pump containing Maifan Stones, hard balls of porous cotton with a particularly strong absorption to heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, chrome, Hg, copper, zinc, manganese and nickel, and a source of important minerals to help keep the PH balance neutral. Position the AIO anywhere in the Pond though a good location would be at a depth where the exit Nozzle or Spout clears the surface of the Water allowing easy fitting of the range of options included with the package. The volume of water passing through the AIO can be adjusted by rotating the small Dial at the front though they recommend keeping it to a max setting. The UV Light Bulb is a, `9 Watt Pond Filter PLS 2 PIN G23`, there is a small area of clear plastic in the upper body of the AIO through which the light can be seen giving an easy check if the bulb is working though it is difficult to see in Day Light so leave till Night time when it is more visible looking into the Pond. Our Pond had been cleaned out and replanted with Lily`s and Aquatic Plants but we had failed to foresee that when potted a fine silt had been used which leached out of the pots and though settling as we left the Pond several days, before restocking the Fish, was promptly stirred into a cloudy mess by their actions with visibility of less than 15 cm. The AIO system was fitted and began to clear the Pond within a few hours and within 24 hours the Pond was noticeably clearer though we still couldn`t see the bottom till the Second Day. Silt which was a fine mist had begun to ball up, and the Fish seemed to like eating it, we guess filtering out what they liked and even began to nibble at the Silt and Algae that had settled on the Gravel set around the Plants by the third day helping us and the AIO to keep the Pond clean achieving and maintaining a fine eco balance, a team effort. Excellent piece of Kit and well worth the little extra cost.

Would recommend, excellent value for money.
Excellent pond filter, cleaned my small pond in 2 days. Love all the different attachments for fountain. It has a long cable of 10metres that was just right size for my garden. It’s well made and easy to instal. Great instructions on how to clean and maintain the filter so it keeps my 54ltr pond crystal clear. Very quiet filter overall excellent value for money.

Great all in one, but…
The unit is nice and compact and comes with a good selection of accessories and replacement items for long-term use. It quickly cleaned the pond to crystal clear. I wired it into a waterproof outdoor switch so it is easy to just turn it on and off when it needs servicing, which previous reviews would be frequent. Those reviews were right. So the pump works well and moves a decent amount of water, with good filtration and this is its downfall. It took just over a week for the pump to come to a virtual halt as all filters were entirely clogged up. The pond was not that dirty as there had been a previous external pump and filter. The instructions suggested that the pump should be cleaned out in the pond to maintain good bacteria, but this was just not possible as the filters and housing needed to be washed with a power wash to clean the imbedded muck due to the powerful flow. Bottom Line: If you want a good clear pond and a nice fountain, it’s great, but expect to clean it out frequently and use main powered water, not just shaking it out in the pond.

Excellent (but be patient)
My pond had been in place for 13 years and I had to replace the liner 4 years ago. In all that time I have attempted to maintain the pond without any type of filter. For the first year or so I could see to a good depth. Then the algae started to take over. Even after the liner replacement, visibility was minimal as I tried to reuse some of the water to maintain a bacterial balance. To help matters I've used various potions which have clumped the algae together and I've skimmed the surface. They've helped a little bit not greatly. This year the fish were only visible at the surface and the algae appeared more luminous than in past years. I finally caved in and bought this all in one unit. It arrived promptly from All pond solutions (and they answered a query swiftly). It's very well designed and a sturdy device (although opening the UV sleeve to check for breakages is a bit heart stopping). It's also very easy to open up and clean. I didn't have round-the-clock access to power so, while waiting for an electrician to install a more permanent solution, I wired a plug to the unit and ran it 10 hours a day for a week connected to an extension reel. I noticed some improvement in the water clarity and had to clear the filters 2 or 3 times but the weather turned and prevented me from running it this way any more (extension reels and rain don't play well together). The electrician eventually arrived and fitted an outside socket for me. The filter was now running 24/7. I was initially disappointed to see little improvement after 4 weeks despite having to regularly clean the filters. Surely it would be improving or did I have too many fish to be able to expect water clarity? The unit isn't at the bottom of the pond - could that be the reason? Then suddenly at the 5 week mark, I noticed a marked improvement! I could see creases in the liner and even an outline of the filter unit. It's now another week on and things have improved further and I can see practically to the bottom of the pond. The fish appear to be very happy. Obviously there was a lot of sludge in my pond from years of decomposing lily pads along with fish waste and algae. There is still some way to go as, even though the water now appears clear, every surface (even the filter box and the hosepipe used to circulate filtered water) is quickly coated with a green layer hours after the unit is resubmerged after cleaning. But I'm still at the stage of cleaning the filters weekly so I know that the clarity will increase and the residue will reduce further. I would certainly recommend this unit. Just be aware that it can't be hurried if your pond has been in place for a long time but it WILL do the job eventually.
