Very gingery, but worked well
I thought that our nespresso coffee maker was going to be just for coffee, so I was pleased to see that I could get tea pods as well. They describe it on the side of the box as a “tangy zinger” taste. For me, the lemon and ginger tea itself was very strongly ginger flavoured, much more than I would have expected. My personal view is that this was a great flavour idea that did not quite work, but that is personal preference. The tea came out with a bit of a coffee-like head, which is a bit off-putting but not really a problem. On the practical side, the recommend approach is to run through some water without a pod first, so that you clear any residual coffee from the system. Having used the tea pod, then run through some water again, leaving it ready for use to make coffee again. Essentially, this worked. It does mean that making a cup of tea is not quite as simple as popping a pod in (unless you are not going to use the machine for coffee) and so the practical advantage over tea-bags or loose tea is less clear-cut. In practice, the pods are more likely to stay fresh for longer so I am a convert. If I were planning to drink this every day, the cost would count against it. However, for a drink every now and then, it should work better than bags, where I regularly find I throw away old ones that have sat for too long in a tin out of sight in the cupboard.Worth a try for any nespresso machine owner if you are a big fan of ginger.

Strong, Intense Flavour
I do enjoy a good, well-brewed strong cup of regular tea, but every now and again I like a cup of green tea, peppermint tea or lemon tea. These Nespresso compatible pods are simple, quick and cut out the long brew that is usually necessary for a good cup of flavoured or herbal tea.Do ensure that you rinse the machine out (pressing the Lungo button with no pod inserted), both before and after using these. The flavour is very intense, and the ginger has quite a kick - very warming and a little bit spicy. I pressed the Lungo button three times to make a bigger cup of the tea, and the flavour was still incredibly strong.I don't think it's as good as the more traditional leaf or bag tea, but certainly great for a quick drink.Fairly expensive compared to loose leaf or bags, but I enjoy the taste

Synthetic aftertaste
My work involves quite a lot of travel and I often take a Nespresso machine so I know I can get good coffee whatever the hotel. I was intrigued by the thought of being able to dispense a cup of tea with the same ease and regularity of taste as my coffee and have been pleasantly surprised by the experience although I am less keen on this flavour compared with alternatives in the range; it has a fairly synthetic aftertaste. The pods are foil sealed for freshness and the sample I received had a shelf life of more than 18 months. Preparation is identical as for coffee except you are advised to run a cleansing water cycle before and after making tea. I liked the fact that, once you have experimented with cup size, each beverage will be identical to the last, taking the guesswork out of the process.Tea capsules are a novel idea and a useful addition to my stock of coffee capsules. It is an expensive but more reliable and less messy method of producing a cup of tea. Something I will use when travelling but I will probably revert to bag in cup when at home.

Pungent and tangy!
I was rather impressed with this product I must say. I am an avid fruit and green tea drinker but have never encountered a product as flavoursome as this one.The flavour is very full bodied to the point my taste buds could have been fooled to think there was half a real lemon in the drink. I did wonder if the taste may be overbearing for some taste buds but then I realised you could simply water it down further if that was the case. However, if you are fond of a particularly pungent taste you will really love these. It is recommended you press the lungo button with these capsules so if you're familiar with the quantities you'll know that is quite a small cup. Although, as mentioned these could be watered down if you require a bigger drink/weaker taste. In terms of using in the nespresso machine they are just as simple as the coffee capsules. It is recommended you rinse the machine before and after use (just press the lungo button with no capsule in).

Strong and flavourful capsules that work well, a cloudier drink but a quality one.
Not the cheapest way of drinking lemon and ginger tea but what you get for your money is a significantly stronger brew than a standard lemon and ginger tea bag. I followed the on pack recommendation and drank this as a long Lungo measure. Even at this dilution my Purecup drink was still much darker and stronger than one made conventionally. The ginger flavour is strong, but not overwhelming. I experienced no issues with the capsules jamming or sputtering, and this has been my experience with all the Purecup Nespresso compatible drinks. Being made with a Nespresso machine there is some foamy 'crema' which you don't experience with tea bags but this makes no difference to the flavour. Don't forget to flush the machine through with a shot of plain hot water before and after use. Residue does remain in the machine post use and if you don't have the same flavoured drink, it isn't a pleasant experience to find it in your cup.Summary: Really strong and flavourful capsules that deliver the full experience of a quality lemon and ginger tea.
