First Class starter kit
I bought the Digital Starter Kit when I first began to use Lee Filters. The pouch is well made and good proportions (better proportions than the Field Pouch in my opinion because you can fit the 105mm polariser into it, which the Field Pouch cannot hold). The filter holder is just as well made and should last a lifetime. The filters are a full 0.6 ND and a hard edged 0.6 ND Grad. Neither of these filters add any colour to the image at all and both adjust the image by 2 f-stops. I often find that the sky is around 2 f-stops brighter so the 0.6 ND Grad is a good choice to start with. So, the starter kit is first class, hence my 5-stars. I would add this though. If you are not limited by a budget you might like to consider your options because Lee do sets of filters (like 3 ND grads in a pack) that are cheaper than buying them individually. The hard edged grads are good for hard horizons but not for a location where a soft graduated filter would work better. The hard grad can be a little unforgiving if used inappropriately. What I am saying is do not rush into buying a starter kit if you can afford not to. If you only have a budget of around £200 then this is a good place to start.I will finish by saying that in my humble opinion, having used a lot of different filters over the years, these Lee filters are by far and away the best I have ever used and the images are always razor sharp. It is worth building up a selection of these filters because they will last a lifetime and you will be glad you bought them.
