Took a little while to figure out how to save on it but once that's done, transferring files from phone to computer and back is so much easier than plugging the phone into the computer.

The adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. On the 1st use, this thumb drive successfully copied a few GBs of files. But on the 2nd use, no more files could be copied to the thumb drive, and I kept getting error messages on my computer (whether I copied a huge group of files or one small file). I tried the thumb drive on different computers to see if it would work (no), and tested if my other thumb drives could successfully copy the same files (yes). The thumb drive did not work as advertised and/or was defective. AVOID THIS THUMB DRIVE. Stick with buying thumb-drives from reputable brands like SanDisk, which, though more expensive, actually work.

After ordering this drive, I found all the postings of fake 1TB USB drives and thought that I had made a terrible mistake. Not so. I received the drive and immediately started testing. The properties did show 1TB but so did all the fake drives. I then copied a 9GB file with no problems. I decided to copy a 270GB file and see if it would work or die. It worked. It took about 5hrs. so if there are any statements about speed, I can say it is slow. the photos show the start of copying and the end with average speed. The last photo shows that there is still about two thirds space left. I did look at the files copied and the ones I opened looked fine.I agree that I didn't fill the drive to the max so you could argue that it could fail with larger files or maxed out. I will let someone else test that theory.Added notes: I copied the 9GB file with the USB-C connection and the 270GB file with the USB-A connection. I also received an error message when I first plugged in the drive. Told Windows to fix it and a message of No Errors came back. I added a label and then started my test. I also checked the drive during the large file transfer, and it barely became warm.

As soon as I plugged this product into my laptop, I got a Trojan virus message from my Windows Defender software. I had the software re-scan the drive and it found the virus and removed it. As a precaution, I re-scanned again and it came out clean. This is the reason for my low overall rating. As a clean product, it is a a very good buy.

1 file at 500gb and the drive shows that it is completely full. Tests of the backup of the data is corrupt and would not function. This is likely a 500gb at most drive that has software on it to make it appear larger. You can not fake a real capacity test though. Drives are dangerous to people that want to do backup of personal photos and such as they would lose those memories. Making an extra dollar from people by deception is theft by deception.Transfer speeds are also abysmal. 10-30mb We copied the files over almost an entire day on multiple occasions to make sure it was not a write error. We did this and then tried to use the file for it's intended purpose of which was not possible. This was not a single test but multiple tests all failing.Buyer beware, you will not get what you pay for.
