I wish more of the nudges that shaped history were the gentle kindโthe signing of a treaty, the commitment to protect the weak, the spreading of a story that would enlighten minds. Alas, humans are more prone to stagnate than to change willingly, and so most nudges are given with force and terror and blood. Most nudges come at the slicing of a blade or the searing of a flame. The final chapters of Sableโs beginning certainly did. More blades than I hope to see again, and the fireโฆwho could ever forget the fire? Phoenix Rising is the final book in the Keeper Origins series. Review: The Perfect Conclusion! - Phoenix Rising was the absolute perfect conclusion to the Keepers Origin Trilogy! Sable, Reese, Atticus, Leonis, and Thulan are all set in their paths to try to fight the Kalesh and save the North from becoming just another taken over and absorbed land. Along the way they make new friends and allies, attempt to persuade the dwarves and elves to join them in their plite, fight harrowing battles against the evils we know and the evils that follow us hidden, but ready to overtake us at any and all opportunities. There were great sacrifices, love, loyalty, family and the family we choose for ourselves. This book also had tons of different types of interesting and unique magicโwhich I wholeheartedly enjoyed discovering, a unicorn, a Phoenix, and a dragon. And above all and most importantly there was hopeโ hope for the future, hope for alliances between all living beings, and hope for happiness. In this book I particularly enjoyed Leonis and Thulan. They brought a lot of comic relief to this story and I laughed! Out Liud! So many times! They were absolutely perfect and I enjoyed every page they were written on. Another aspect of this book I particularly like was the Dwarven Hearth Vows. I enjoyed this idea and this passage in the story very much and have decided that that is exactly how people in our world should pledge themselves to each other. Forget weddings, the Dwarven Hearth Vows are were itโs at. All in all, this was an amazing conclusion to an absolutely wonderful series. There were so many wonderful aspects to this story and itโs hard to touch on all of them so you absolutely have to read it to discover them all for yourself. So, if you love classic fanatasy, with amazing magic, tons of magical beings, great evil, amazing heroes, a wonderful found family, all entwined with rays of hope for the future then you just have to read the Keeper Origins Trilogy. Review: The power of truth. - I decided to give my review at the end of the series including all three books. J.A.Andrews, as a writer of fantasy, has been known to me for several years, but I did not seem to be able to find the time to read any of her books. Once I started on the first book of the series though, I was hooked. I loved the way the writer showed us and made unforgettable all the characters, from the most unimportant ones (such as the simple soldiers in the war) to the most important such as the complex characters of Vivaine, Sable, Atticus, Kiva and so on. Each is masterfully depicted and quite distinct. The writer has taken different races humans, elves, dwarves, kobolds and makes them, in spite of their differences , to work together to save themselves and the future of their world. Sable stands for the truth and she goes straight for it, disregarding the consequences. Atticus likes to move the threads through his plays and he is very good at it. Thulan the dwarf and Leonis the half- elf actor create the humorous touches the story need. Purnicious the kobold is unique and the love growing in the story between Sable and Reese is clean and beautifully presented. The canvas the story is spread on is vast, yet the writer does not miss any threads and the conclusion is satisfactory. The characters are still in my memory and not forgotten as usually happens when I finish a book. I could go on and rave about this beautifully written story but I think you should read it for yourself and discover all the hidden jewels and magic in it. The truth is only one and it will always triumph in the end if you are willing to sacrifice everything to unveil it.

Worth the read, though a bit plodding
I enjoyed this entire series and, while this book was definitely more plodding than the first two installments, it's worth the read for three reasons: 1) The plot itself is engaging, with some good twists 2) The writing is excellent--the author's descriptive language is top notch, and the editing is also excellent (I spotted only a couple of errors across the entire, long book, which is unusual these days) 3) It wraps up the series conclusively; albeit, with some loose ends and a few, anti-climatic resolutions. Thank goodness for an author who can actually write a trilogy--so many authors these days seem to milk stories for 5, 6 or even 10 books or more.

UNIQUELY FASCINATING FANTASY (despite battles, elves, dwarves, magic, murder, mayhem, and dragon) !
Seriously. Read it. However, if you want the full pleasure of it, read the first two in the Keeper Origins first. Or do like I did, and read the Keeper Chronicles trilogy first, then this trilogy. The suspense nearly killed me, waiting for this last installment. Anyway, back to the book itself. I will NOT have spoilers in this review, but if you like books with suspense, romance, battles, elves, dwarves, magic, murder, mayhem, and DRAGONS, JA Andrews does it all, but in a way that is refreshingly unique, with so many plot twists that it stunned me! This book continued to enlighten and surprise me over and over right up to the end. Usually when I have read multiple books by the same author, things get a bit less exciting and more predictable. Usually, I like the first one I read best, and unfortunately my desire to continue the series lessens with every new work. With JA Andrews, she has delightfully bested her best with every one of her Keeper books! This one is the newest bestest best! It has EVERYTHING, even BLOOPERS at the end! Serious, honest-to-Amah's-Pointy-Nose Bloopers at the end of a book!!! I'll stop gushing now. But seriously, READ THIS BOOK (and all the others)!

A very satisfying conclusion to a great epic fantasy trilogy
If I could write a review as well as JA Andrews writes books, there would be no doubt that I could convince you to read Phoenix arising. The conclusion to the Keeper Origins trilogy is satisfying in so many ways. JA Andrews fills her books with characters that feel real, not one dimensional, in a well crafted world that I would love to visit. Magic is real, and there are magical beings as well as magical creatures. Can the different cultures unite to fight off a common enemy? Can peace be brokered through a central, pivotal character? Is it possible to overcome personal tragedy to find the strength to continue fighting? Join Sable, Reese, Atticus, Thulan, Leonis, Purn and many more, as they unite to fight the overwhelming might of the Empire to keep their independence and freedom.

Brilliant
Phoenix Rising completes The Keeper Origins series by JA Andrews. Brilliant is the only word that I have to offer in rating it. I was enthralled by the story, as I have been by everything that comes from this author. No one today captures the essence of the Fantasy genre better! The supernatural nature of Fantasy shines a light on reality, and vice versa; and JA Andrews has discovered the secrets of that relationship. I do believe that once upon a time, Janice bumped into an old peddler with a squeaky cart, and traded a bottle of Big Sky Air for a Phoenix Quill that, when dipped in well of golden ink refined by Dragon Fire, creates marvelous tales that leave readers spellbound. If you haven't read The Keeper Chronicles and The Keeper Origins series by JA Andrews, you're missing two of the best stories that make reading a joy.

wholesome reading!
So many books these days with female heroines involve love at first sight and almost immediate reliance on men to complete the story. This one was a nice change and, yes - a happy ending. Thanks!

Enchanting
Loved all the characters the elves, dwarfs, dragons it just goes on forever in different people. The story just grabs you and I could not stop reading. All three of the books in the series were so well put together that I was sorry it ended. BUT I can get the next series and that will be exciting to see what has happened to the world next. Definitely recommend It to anyone who loves fantasy and science fiction.

Perfect final book!
This is the final instalment in the Keeper Origins series. I actually had to pause for a few days once I got within the final 100 pages because I didn't want it to end! (I finally pushed through by promising myself I can re-read it later!) I have loved each of the books in this series. In this third book I loved how at the beginning of each section there is a tiny excerpt from the play that will be written about these events. I thought that was such a great little addition to the narrative. This series has introduced so many characters to me, and I love all of them. If you are looking for something epic and lovely with high stakes and a cozy feel - read these books!

A truly wonderful read.
Phoenix rising concludes Sables tale and is a wonderful uplifting end to the trilogy. The characters are so well rounded that you feel you know them personally and even their flaws are shown in all their multifaceted glory so that while you may not like them you can at least understand them. A truly wonderful story full of magical highs & lows. I feel so sad to have to say goodbye to them all.

Brilliant conclusion to a trilogy
Janice is a brilliant writer. She creates situations and characters that resonate long after the book is finished. This is the third part of a trilogy which I read all together. I thoroughly recommend all three books. She is also the author of another trilogy (The Keeper Chronicles) which follows this one in the time of her created world but was written before it. I heartily recommend that also. Must read it again.

Wonderful story telling
A wonderful tale beautifully woven and written. One of those books you canโt put down and then you feel a sense of loss when it is finished. A great end to the trilogy.
