Donโt buy extra satellite under any circumstances
Delighted by original orbi but then bought an extra satellite to get coverage in the garden. This has completely messed the system up to such an extent that I have to switch the new satellite off to avoid the network completely failing. Nethearโs custpner service links are those cyclical links which mean it is impossible to actually get help. From being thrilled with my orbi I am now utterly utterly frustrated and ripped off!

Could be great but performance isn't quite there
I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. I love what the Orbi promises but it isn't there on actual performance. The range is no where near what it is advertised (my house is about 70 m square and I need 3 satellites possibly a 4th) and I find the WiFi speed drops once you're connecting via one of the satellites (no matter how close you're next to it). I hope a future firmware upgrade will improve the performance as it is a big outlay.

I purchased this Orbi Satellite add on having sent one back the day before. I spent an hour with Netgear support trying to sort a connection issue with the Orbi router, Netgear said it was possibly faulty.Amazon had refunded me within the hour using passmyparcel,at no cost ,fantastic service. The new one came and I had the same issues. I spent again another hour with Netgear, the problem i was getting is that it would connect, it would offer me a firmware update, it showed that the update was downloaded and installed but it wasn't then it would lose connection .I was trying to 'Daisychain' my 2nd satellite as I had a couple of dead spots and it would not pick up the signal via 5G or 2.4 and needed the most recent firmware to be able to do this but could not keep the connection long enough.I again got onto Netgear and again tried to resolve this as it was obviously an issue with the firmware. The solution, I had to download version RBS 2.0.0.56 first which then allowed me to download 2.1.4.10 which is what you need to hardwire using ethernet. Its sorted all my dead spots. Hope this helps someone

The whole OrbI experience leaves me cold. I originally purchased the 2 piece kit( router +1satellite) which didn't give me the wifi coverage I need. I have since extended the system with 2 more satellites and STILL don't have the required coverage. I am currently awaiting delivery of a 4th satellite and hoping that will do the job. I regret having started this VERY EXPENSIVE purchase. My house is approx 1800 sq feet over 3 floors and the real problem is getting the wifi signal through brick walls.

100% Wifi at last.
I was a bit sceptical about these devices and have always invested heavily in getting wifi throughout my house/garden. I have tried extenders, powerlines with another router at the end and have always had an issue with different subnets/Ip ranges. DLNA does not route over two seperate network ranges etc. I could go on and on as this has been a pain point for me for years.Mesh technology is finally here and there are a good few options, looking at the design of these devices I thought I would buy a pair and see how they work. First impressions are good, in fact, I have just purchased a third device which should have me covered. The downside for this product is the price but if it does the job and looks quite cool, not with the conventional ugly twigs then I am more than happy. If you have the spare cash and want good coverage then I would recommend.!

interoperability is a problem
I have RBR50 and RBS50this worked with neither, despite claiming toReturned to amazon after wasting hours trying to get it workingReal shame.

Not so easy to add to your existing Orbi setup
Network coverage no better than the airport base stations it replaces and a whole lot more difficult to set up. Adding satellites that you buy later is a massive chore.
