Good lessons
This has a lot of information that I did not learn in any previous book (most of mine are several decades older) and all of it is laid out in a way where it is as easy to learn as it's going to be. (You still have to get pencil and paper and put in effort....just the understanding is easier.)

GREAT STARTER BOOK!
I bought this for my very talented teenage daughter who is trying to expand her drawing techniques from anime to more "realistic" drawings. She is learning a lot from this book. That being said, I have seen books with better pictures and more examples, but this is a good starter book. The eye examples in this book are spot on! She is very happy with this book!

my grandson whos 10 wanted this for his birthday .he was really happy to get it and i love all his drawings he just keeps learning new ways to draw things .its a really great learning tool that he can go back to if needed as much as he likes

A how to book great for beginners
This is a how to book that delivers on what it says. I have the electronic version. There are some typos and some repetition, and as an ebook, the diagrams are not as easy to see. On the other hand, the lessons are concise and well explained. I particularly like the sections in which she answers questions from her students and shows samples. I am including my first practice drawing; some are better but I felt it was worth it. :-)

The best shading book ever read, and I have read over a dozen. Liked it so much I am going to buy the actual book!

Good For Beginners
The book had too much text and not enough illustration. It is not very suitable for artists with any experience as I am. But very good for beginners in pencil drawing.

Excellent book
I learned so much from this book. Each chapter focuses on a different aspect of drawing and shading. I found it useful to practise step by step and so gained in confidence and understanding.
