FG-02639 Durabulb LED Light Bulb

The bulbs are very easy to handle, due to the slotted translucent plastic outer layer. This simple fact became quickly obvious while replacing two 60W incandescent bulbs in ceiling fixtures! The incandescent bulbs are a mite slippery, requiring great care to keep in hand while transferring from overhead to container (inside my shirt). The eye-friendly nature of the light from the Durabulb 60W became a help while re-installing the glass dome cover on the ceiling fixture! I did not have to squint against any glare from the light source inside the bulbs while finding the end of the retaining post, nor while turning the blind nut back onto the end of the post. Using single bulbs in table lamps, while playing Cribbage, also revealed the advantages of glare-free sources of light! In the bathroom, shaving with an electric razor is easier, again due to the glare-free nature of the light!We have two outdoor light fixtures, which are recessed into the Soffit = I am waiting for a Chinook wind to warm our -20°C temperatures before I insert a Durabulb into each of those fixtures!

Love using less electricity lower Bill's with the same amount of brightness. Bulbs are not hot to the touch, no brittle glass casing.. comes in secure resealable square plastic container with handle easy to carry and protective case.

They are a bit on the yellow side. Bulbs are rated at 2700K which are supposed to be on the warmer side of the color spectrum like a soft orange sunset; not Mellow Yellow with a spotlight running through it. Fortunately for me, however, all 10 of my bulbs are in working condition. These bulbs are bright (700 lumens), doesn't create and soft buzzing noise like other LEDs, and offers an estimated energy cost about $0.90 per year. They cannot be used in totally enclosed fixtures, but are surprisingly safe touch even after being on for about an hour or more. In fact, these bulbs almost generate no heat.Overall I am pleased with the quality, design, and performance of these bulbs. If it weren't for the exaggerated yellow tone, I would've given it a 5 star (much more yellow than a standard soft white bulb). In fact it almost makes everything in your house look a bit yellow. Each bulb carries a three-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. I recommend checking each bulb after purchasing. Lighting Science will replace the bulbs if you find any duds in your batch.

They work great except for you can't use in closed light glob they will over heat

Love lights-replaced all my light bulbs with these-stay cool--can dim them too.

This is an edited review. At first the performance of these bulbs was exceptional. However, as of about the 5 month mark, the bulbs have achieved a 15 percent failure rate. Though I liked the 60w Daylight bulb, I would not order this brand again.
