Do you have to put these inside the permanent filter or can you use them alone ? Many thanks

This maybe a reply to an old question. However, these filters are EXTREMELY thin which is why they can sell packs of 200, and certainly not of the same level of quality of Melitta or that. These filters are certainly not thick/strong enough to without the permanent filter, and personally I always insert the filter into Cuisinart Grind & brew coffee maker, as it helps to prevent accidental breakage of the filter paper that could pour into your Cafetiere/jug below. Personally, I will NEVER buy these filter papers again because it feels like they could easily come apart when trying to remove it my coffee maker to the bin nearby, as it's just feels so flimsy! I will go up price and buy Melitta or that is of decent quality because I think it actually downplays the taste of the coffee too.

Are these 8/12 cup paper coffee filters really 20.3cm across the top? If they are fluted would they fit a funnel about 11cm top diameter?

This type of coffee filter paper is measured by laying them flat on the table. The overall diameter is approximately 200mm. The diameter of the base is approximately 80mm. They are used for domestic coffee machines and are not suitable for commercial 'pour & serve' machines. Personally I don't like the use of the term 'cups' because this can be subjective.

Are these recyclable?

We recycle ours. They are quite flimsy.
