Does the job!
I replaced an old 80's original master socket with this one just to eliminate problems with intermittent broadband connections. It didn't actually make any difference but did help to isolate the extension wiring for fault diagnoses (turned out to be the router). It was easy enough to install, but as others have said, it is not as the picture shows with screw terminals it has push-down connectors which you need a special tool for.

Fully compatible with BT's own master socket
Used this to replace an aging/damaged front section on an existing BT socket. Was fully compatible in size, shape and where the screw holes are located. I did not use the back section where the BT cabling itself is located and so cannot comment on that aspect. For me, this was a good product and great value for money.

Excellent value replacement NTE5a Master Socket
My broadband had been dropping occasionally recently and I felt it might be worth changing my existing telephone master socket which I knew had been in place 20 years or so. I could have called in BT/Openreach but as these Master Socket's are very cheaply priced I might save myself a lot of time for a very small outlay. Although there are only two incoming cables that matter - in this case they would go to either the A or B screw down connections. The other click-in section relates to any slave extension you might have. I recommend you take photos of your existing setup before dismantling so you don't confuse yourself unnecessarily when you come to installing.

Working fine - Bit brittle
I've only taken a star off because of the quality of the plastic (brittle) and I'm not to keen on how loose the master socket appears to be behind the face plate, I wouldn't wanna be in and out of this box many times. Only tested upto 20mb and working fine BUT if this was being fitted somewhere it might get kicked alot or knocked, I dont think this box will last long. Bare in mine though it's a 3rd cheaper than the genuine Open Reach NTE5 boxes, in the right application I will keep buying these boxes.

Received different from picture.
A little disappointed the unit didn't have the terminals for the incoming line as shown in the pictures. This was the reason I ordered this product. As it happens, it took 3 attempts to get a signal because I didn't have the correct tool. Luckily I own a multimeter so was able to check for voltage at the sole points on the circuit board and I knew what to look for. Could result in an expensive call-out for some. May seem petty but didn't receive what was advertised. Otherwise the quality/price is good.
