Original Nail Polish, Bordeaux, Dark Red Burgundy Nail Varnish

I was initially skeptical as most light colour nail polishes will look so white and washed out on me. After a lot of research on tiktok lol, I picked Lilacism. This came out so beautifully! I definitely recommend it for brown skin and warm under-toned, as it is not too light nor not too bright of a shade. It has the right amount of colour imo, to wear it like a nude shade. This will be so perfect for spring/summer or tbh any season really. The colour was not so thick yet so smooth and not streaky, very fluid and easy to apply. I applied only 1 coat and it was enough. I sealed it off with Essie's gel couture top coat for a gel-like finish.

I love this nail polish. Its a lovely feminine colour baby milky pink and is easy to apply as it comes with a wide brush. I would say 2 x coats is the best way to wear this colour and with a top coat can easily last a week without chipping. I would say it dries quite quickly and is lovely for any manicure/ pedicure.

I really like this Essie nail polish in Licorice, but it does have its limitations. Full disclosure, the first night I wore it, I was in a rush, and I only applied it in a single layer, with no base coat or top coat. It was very easy to apply, and the brush was good enough to do the 3 stroke application. It dried quickly, and looked good with a touch of gloss, but it chipped slightly before I even got to the venue. I removed it the next morning and it was tricky to remove, as the nail polish remover just seemed to move it around the nail, even though I used my tried and tested method of a cotton wool pad soaked in remover placed over the nail, press down for a few seconds, and then slide away, taking the polish with it. It took three tries per nail to remove most of the single layer of polish, and it did stain my nails to a greyish colour, but I can't complain about that, as it was my choice not to use a base coat, and the staining disappeared after a normal day of hand washing and washing up. The second time I used it, I used both base and top coat, which did give it a high level of shine. It chipped by day 2, and it was so bad by day 3 that I had to remove it. Again, it was tricky to remove, and there was some faint staining. That said, I would buy it again, knowing that I could only wear it for a night out, or a couple of days. I really like the depth of black, and for me, it’s worth that extra bit of hassle.

I'm so impressed with the staying power of Essie Gel Couture nail polish! This photo is 11 days after I applied the polish (with no nail prep or additional top coat after the recommended 7 days). I'm hard on my nails and have been clearing boxes, washing up, etc without any chips to the polish.

I love essie nail polishes. I’ve been on a hunt for a nice soft-pink glittery colour as I have ridges on my nails which are very visible with all other finishes but soft-sparkly natural and glitter, which is a pain to remove. This nail polish looked ideal, but when I tried it, it looked nothing like the colour in the photos. The s’il vous play colour looks a sparkly pink in photos, but in reality it is a pale metallic lilac. It paints very well - in the attached photo I’ve painted only one coat of it on, but it shows every ridge and uneven area (see mark from a razor on my middle fingernail and ridge in my ring finger). I’ll stick to my tested and tried essie perlfection colour.

I play guitar which is vital on my nails, I’ve only had this on for 24hrs but I played a 2 hour session yesterday and hurrah… it has not chipped!

Lo smalto nero di Essie è in assoluto il mio preferito. Colore intenso, coprente già dalle prime passate, elegante e perfetto in qualsiasi stagione. È un nero pieno e raffinato, adatto sia a look più casual che più curati. Si stende bene e ha una buona durata. La consegna è stata puntuale e nei tempi previsti. Lo ricomprerò senza dubbi
