Has limitations, but fantastic for what it is
I love this little thing. Only prints 6x4 and uses proprietary paper and ink, so obviously has limitations, but what it does, it does brilliantly. Hooks up to my Mac over wifi with no issues, prints quickly, the colour and quality are great and it takes up very little space on my desk. You could argue the price per print is higher than online/high street print shops, but the convenience outweighs that for me. Only drawback is that if you are not printing edge to edge, the borders seem to be a little off. If printing directly from software on computer it's easy enough to adjust the print settings, but it will take a few test prints to get to a point where those borders are symmetrical. I can imagine that might be something that concerns people printing directly from a phone where those settings are more difficult to set up.

Great photo printer for phone pics
My daughter loves this in her bedroom. It was easy to set up with an app on her phone, and she prints photos for her bedroom wall. Easy to use, and it's handy that you buy the ink and paper together. I've stocked up when they've been on offer.

Be aware this is a waste of money
I bought one of these at the end of January. I set it up and worked. I was really pleased. I printed about 10 prints from lightroom classic.Ive just tried to use it again on March 8. When I tried to print (again from lightroom) it said to change the ink cassette as it was empty. I was suprised as I had only printed 10 prints.I changed it. I get the same message. The small display is very dim and there is no way to increase the brightness.I have spent £150 on ink and paper. This printer is a waste of money.

I think this is really great!
I've been on the lookout for a way to print some photos. However I wanted to avoid inkjet printers as a) ink is very expensive, b) images will fade fairly rapidly, c) they take up space. So this Selphy printer looked like a great option and I'm not disappointed. The Dye-Sub prints are great, glossy, deep saturation and borderless. I'd wager you'd have to spend a fair whack more to achieve the same quality with Inkjet to get the same consistent results. It's miles better quality than Instax. Occasionally you do get a scratch line from a roller or something in the glossy overcoat. It's also important to ensure there is no dust or pet hair anywhere in the machine or on the paper as this can give some pretty whacky effects.Cost per print is reasonable when buying the 108 cartridge/paper refills. In fact, it appears to be one of the cheaper options in the 4x6 size...much cheaper than instax wide, which is also smaller. The 'enhance image' setting on the printer/app appears to add a profile that does adjust images to a better representation of the original digitals. I initially left this option off as I didn't want it randomly changing my edited photo appearance...but this did lead to images being a tad darker and more saturated. So maybe try turning it on for yourself and doing a side by side test.Portability hack...You can buy a special battery, but it is quite expensive. However the required input voltage through the barrel jack is just within the realms of USB-C PD. So I got myself an adapter for USBC to 2.5mm DC (which must specifically be rated for the 18-20v PD voltage) and it works! You'll want a reasonably hefty charger or power bank in the 45watt and upwards range. Now this device works on the go.Wish I got one years ago!

Good quality prints bringing your photography to life. Relatively easy to use, printing from a range of devices or SD card. Prints work out at about 30p each.

Great Product - but shoot themselves in the foot a little bit
Well- where do I start -the wife has been on about one of these for over 12 months, so when we did our shopping in Sainsburys, she went to Argos to have a look at them - the assistant came over to help (uninvited) and convinced the wife to have one - did not have one in stock but she could pick it up Tuesday. also convinced her to have a pack of 6x4 photo paper this they had in stock.Spoke to the wife about it when we got home, she said she had been looking at them for 12 months and because they had come down in price she chose to bite the bullet, because she was fed up of looking at pictures on her phone and wanted a hard copy.I was so impressed with her logic I ordered one for myself off Amazon for next day delivery with a pack of 6x4 photo paper. It arrived the next day (no waiting for Tuesday for me). and I was so disappointed because it was at this point I found out that it comes with no ink cartridge, so I could not try it out.I ordered an ink cartridge for next day delivery which comes with photo paper (so I did not need to buy a pack - my fault). My ink cartridge arrived next day and at Last I was able to try it. what a fantastic product with shop quality photographs produced - I would recommend using app on your phone as well extra options.Pro's Great Great Great productCons - I think Canon they shoot themselves in the foot a little bit by not putting a part full ink cartridge and a few paper installed just enough to try it out when purchased. And the option to run it on battery is not an option as it is not supplied as standard and will cost you another £35.Shame about the couple of negatives when it really is a great product.
