Swear on My Life

A good story.
I love how SL Scott spins her stories. This one slightly missed the mark for me, even though I loved the characters individually and together.Lark and Harbor meet at a gas station when he’s buying a soda for his sister. They’re in the same class, and he’s noticed her before, but this is the first time they’re actually talking. He’s from a wealthy family, and she was raised by her dad. He has several trust funds, and she has to work to make ends meet. He has his own apartment, and she shares hers and struggles to pay the rent. They’re so very different on paper, but they complement each other. It was refreshing to see real communication. It takes them a bit to get there, but it was beautiful to witness. It was also beautiful to see their worlds come together regardless of social status or wealth. There’s not a lot of spice, but it matches who they are. However, while Lark thinks they’ll be riding off into the sunset (i.e., college) together, Harbor has other plans. I’m not saying they don’t come from the heart, but it didn’t make sense after everything they’d talked about and been through. When he leaves, she is heartbroken and alone, and she doesn’t understand what happened.Does he come back? Of course. However, It didn’t feel like a second-chance story to me because there wasn’t enough time spent on the "second chance" bit, or on other plot points, and, in my opinion, everything was forgiven way too fast.In the end, they’re together after healing each other, and yes, it warmed my heart.

SO Good!!!
Oh My Goodness!! I can’t say enough about this book!! The angst, the chemistry, the wait for the HEA… it was all so worth it!!!! I love Harbor and Lark and their love story so much! Harbor’s love for Lark is so beautiful and what he is willing to do for her is both admirable and heartbreaking at the same time. And the way he was willing to wait for her and allow her to move at the pace she needed to forgive him, it was poetic. Such a great read! Don’t miss it!!

Still thinking about this one
I'm sitting on the fence here trying to decide how I feel about this book. The fact that I'm still thinking about it and haven't moved on to the next book is a good sign. Yep. Just still sitting here, staring at the blinking cursor, thinking about this story. The things I loved: The straight talk. I loved Lark's honesty and Harbor's response with his own honesty. I loved the deep loyalty demonstrated. I loved the empathy Lark showed, even when it wasn't deserved. I loved that there were no interferring OP. These two had enough going on without that nonsense. The commitment, risk and patience. The families.Things I less than loved: The length of time spent in college, just a tad bit too long for me. People making decisions for other people. Crappy friends.Yeah, that pretty much sums it up for me. Good story.

Wonderful
I love this book. The writing flows easily and effortlessly. The characters are well developed, loveable and some very intense. This is a highly emotional experience, hurt, pain and betrayal will grip your heart strings. This love storyline is different, not predictable. You will love the beautiful family dynamics. The vulnerability of the characters bring to life the strength needed to go forward and seek out their happy-ever. The love making is off the charts, sizzling hot and passionate. The book is fast moving and will keep you engaged throughout the book. Overall, an interesting and outstanding experience.

A great story.
Wow. Just wow. Harbor and Lark are the perfect couple who meandered through life's messes. The ups and downs of life and they find a way back to each other. Though I love long books I think I could have used a little less rambling of the characters. The story itself is wonderful and well written but the written point of view gave a little too much inner monologue. This is my first read by this author and likely won't be my last.

Loved it!
Such a beautiful read. I love how strong Lark is and stands up for everything she believes with such grace. Harbor...Harbor's beautiful. I read so many books and so many storylines seem to blur together, however, this one stands out, due not only to the refreshing plot, but the way Harbor interacts and treats Lark. He is such a good guy! My favorite part about this book is how it is a perfect balance of romance, comedy, heartbreak, and spice. A 10 out of 10 for me!

Good read
I felt the chemistry right away between the two main characters. The writing is good. The love story here has a lot of ups and downs more than I care for personally Yet it keeps you reading because you want them to end up together. life is so crazy in this love story it breaks your heat at what all they have to go through I recommend this book

Romance
Harbour saw Lark and was smitten. He has a raucous time with his cousin until there was an accident and he took the blame. Lark and Harbour got together and fell in love. The story begins. A story of selfless love, bigoted money people and live. A good book and a great read

too long
This story was far too long and then the end felt so rushed! I never really bought into the characters and it all felt a little superficial!

Beautiful Romance in Two Parts
S.L. Scott has a way of dragging all of your emotions out and playing with them when she writes her books. Her characters are the perfect balance of vulnerable and broken and the plot takes them through a journey of growth that sees them come out with a happily ever after but not before putting the reader through the emotional wringer. That said as a lover of contemporary romance I would not have it any other way.Swear On My Life is a beautifully written new adult romance written in two parts. The first is a college romance of two people barely into adult hood trying to bridge their social divide and fight their past emotional demons. The second part is their second chance, after their romance fell apart under the weight of their youthful angst and problems. Combined this is a wonderful tale of second chances, the power of love and forgiving yourself. This is S.L. Scott at her best and so of course she will break your heart before she mends it and tissues are a must.
