Twin Peaks Soundtrack

Some reviewers have said they got a bad copy. I'm writing this so you know that not all copies are bad. My copy is a good pressing, perfectly flat with below-average surface noise, good dynamic range, and that lovely warm vinyl sound that CDs can't quite match IMHO.The music itself holds up. It's ethereal and timeless. It absorbs you and transports you to a different place. And hearing it on a good stereo instead of through your TV speakers is quite a treat, you hear details you didn't hear before. I like it.Regarding the "coffee-colored" vinyl: There's a debate about whether colored vinyl sacrifices sound quality; I have a few records in different colors that don't sound as good as standard black vinyl. So I was prepared to be slightly disappointed in the sound quality of this release on colored vinyl. But it sounds very good. Not audiophile reference quality, but very good for a standard-priced vinyl record.The packaging is very nice. The white outer slip cover surrounds a removable gatefold album cover with nice Twin Peaks art, a pic of Badalamenti in the middle, performer credits, and an interesting short essay with background on how he came to be a frequent collaborator with David Lynch.I think the whole package is a bit overpriced at $45. The record company and Amazon are taking advantage of fans' anticipation for Season 3 coming in a few months, and the recent resurgence in vinyl. Twin Peaks fans from the '90s are more mature and have higher incomes today, and seem like a good target for a product like this. On the other hand, giving the record company the benefit of the doubt, it must be true that this is a limited run and therefore production costs are higher than if it were mass-produced. So I don't feel so bad about spending a bit more. But still, I'd wait a while to see if it goes on sale, or comes down in price, or is eligible for some type of discount.All things considered, I'm pleased with the purchase and feel lucky that I got a flawless copy.

One daughter bought this for the other, they're both huge fans of Twin Peaks. They both love this album and I'm pretty sure it is red, so that's a bonus.

I've loved this soundtrack for almost 30 years now.... Sounds great on vinyl. Beautiful packaging and great colored vinyl.

this pressing gets a lot of flack but it sounds OK, could probably use a good cleaning. There are several loud pops on side A, side B is much cleaner sounding. Not sure if they'd be fixed with a deep clean or not. Record arrived in perfect shape with no warp of any kind though which is good. Happy to have this one in my collection

Great sounding vinyl! Very full and bassy, and slightly more haunting with that magical "crackle". With the maestro's liner notes, it's worth every penny.

I bought this vinyl a while ago now but it popped back up recently in a feed and I have to leave a review. First off let me tell this review is for this actual pressing not the album itself. This is one of the most beautiful and haunting soundtracks I have ever heard I have the original CD from the 1990s series. This pressing is haunting for a different reason, it is unlistenable!!! I would have returned my copy but was well outside of the return window by the time I actually got to sit down and listen to it. At first I thought maybe the surface noise would be helped by a good cleaning, nope I was very wrong. I have run this through my spin clean 3 times and zero improvement, even used a vinyl record vac..nope...that didn't help either. I feel bad having to leave a poor review of one of my favorite soundtracks ever.

Amazon replaced a faulty vinyl that I received..this was most appreciated as I live in Australia. The record is just divine!!!!

Great addition to a collection or for a twin peaks fan. Awesome album.

Si conocen la serie saben que el soundtrack es de los mejores de todos los tiempos, la presentación es impecable y el color del vinilo es muy bonito, muy contento con esta compra, la calidad de audio es perfecta.Escuchado en una soundbar 3.1 de JBL

a cui, a discapito dell'età, sono cominciati a piacere i vinili, al posto dei freddi ed inconsistenti MP3 odierni. (spero anche un po' per colpa/merito mio :-). ).Ottima qualità, non è un 180gr ma va bene lo stesso.Ascolto pulito, anche grazie agli immancabili (sono il bello di questo tipo di supporto) glitch tipici dello scorrere della puntina sui solchi.Grazie Vinile.
